My son and I have been riding there and really enjoy it.
Yes, I've heard of this place. It's on the list! Thank you for the suggestion :))

Dirt Roads

NC has a program in place to pave all dirt roads asap. Makes it harder to find good roads around here. There should be some roads around your area. Lots of farm land in that area. I think SC has more locally.

Uwharrie is a fun place to ride. I've been meaning to check out the Sandhills for a while. I have family in that area. Let me know if you make a trip that way anytime.

I've got to come up to Hawthornes again to see everyone, it's been too long.

Badin Lake is another fun place for dual sport or trail rides. Been there few times, trails are well marked. Last time I was there, you could pickup a day ride pass for $5 at a BP nearby the entrance.

I am bad with names, but ill try...

It was a good ride and was nice meeting everyone. Augie, that's the cleanest KLR I've ever seen. The Ulysses was a beauty and it was a match between it and the Tiger (Larry, right?) who sounded the best. Chris (Uly), Numa (Wee Strom) and Opa (F650) were riding muddy roads on slick road tires. I don't have the stones for that. Was it Dave on the DR? I was giving it all i had just to keep you in my sights. And you were sitting up like you were just out there puttering along. A bit humbling.

Next time I might even have a rear brake! :)

Oh, I forgot to mention, I stopped trying to keep up with the Tiger and Uly when we crossed 90mph on 85 north...sheesh! :) Do you guys have any idea what you gotta do to get a KLR up to 90?!?

I'd be interested in doing this ride or a similar one if I could camp over night and make it a two day trip. Of course, once it warms up a little.

I would assume some, if not all of you are into camping?
