Cyril wanted us to neglect the other riders and be No 1, and he wanted a lot more money too.
So we decided forego the internal fighting and back Marc Coma We made
the whole team work for him

This approach was a success. We had a great team spirit. because we did'nt fight internally we had a better atmosphere than ever before

We will hire another young rider during the coming year. But our plan is clear: In 2015 we will go into Dakar with Marc Comaas our sole No 1 rider

Q: will Husquarna field a factory team in next years Dakar?
No decision made yet. We have to carefully think about what we do with Husquarna. All we know now is that we will be competing with a five rider strong KTM factory team in the 2015 Dakar

Q:You could get Cyril back and spoil him as No 1 at Husquarna

Ahm- Husquarna is not desperate enough do do that.....
So like l said before. It wasn't all about money and wanting a new challenge (pr-talk) for Despres. He gambled and played it wrong imo. KTM simply made a choice in the end.

I really don't believe Ktm was left with a choice.

Despres spoke for himself why can't you leave it at that? Why demean Despres? Only two people know for sure....Despres and the head KTM person, whoever he is, knows for sure. I feel KTM lucked out slowly pissing away the gain from other's early mistakes. When is the last time Despres missed a wp/check?

I can't wait until 2015..... I believe between Yamaha and Honda, KTM will kicked back into the Gas Gas, Sheroco and Husky division.... Coma will not be afforded the luxury of cruise control.

Now that ought to piss off a few

Thumb caught up

Pant pant pant cough hack pant pant pant !!!

I finally got caught up after starting about 200 pages behind.

Wait.....where did the race go?

WELL DONE F5ers! I have thoroughly enjoyed following the greatest race in the world with you all. I did have time to see the 30 minute video summaries daily. Then back to the f5irehose to get "the rest of the story".

Well done to all the competitors!
My condolences to those who have fallen.

I'll be looking for Coma, Sainz, and Chavo in 2015.

"the head of KTM person" - for Motorsport ................ I think you may find that Pit Beirer fit's the bill, and he just spoke

But a good season coming up and I feel (IMHO as they say) that the "ordinary" rally's are more influenced by the man than the machine than in the Dakar. It's difficult to gauge how much, but if rider influence plays a bigger part then yes the season will be well and truly open with HRC probably already working on the technical lessons from the Dakar

Honda probably fly them back to Japan and start working on flexible roadbook holders .
They'd go broke if Barreda rides for them next year .

I think they should consider just making the whole thing out of rubber - the bike I mean.
