I would be surprised if we are still talking about half these riders this time next week?

The hardest stages are still to come and the stats cannot be ignored. We hope and wish them all to be there, but we know there will be many who fall out on the way.

Yeah but I think Too Old's right, Pommie would be good. He'd definitely like that I reckon.

Riaan in in 7' 55 off Sam's time. This is good news. Steadily climbing overall, but I still want to know what happened after CP1. He was doing very well until that point.

Time will tell, but yes the stats state that maybe 25 - 30% won't be there, but which 25 - 30%?
Sam may be 24, but I can assure you he doesn't think like it when riding

I thinking They have been nipping for a few rallies now. Half these riders? Half of the snappers will at least still be around. "The Force is strong in these fellas" but you are right consistency is key. They just might consistently win a few stages more.

But the show is certainly not over. When the gap is 35 min over CD and MC then maybe then does the leader have a chance.

I fear some tears will flow on this Dakar before the end is in sight.

Norwegian rider Pal Anders Ullevalseter has just signalled a problem with his KTM. He is attempting to repair after around 290 km of the bike special stage.

I think its was just a faulty tracker. Hoping the same for Laia.
Next up is another "brit" Shane Diener and Dave Reeve from Zambia. We hope!!
