If that course map doesn't get the latent B1K genes a buzzin' amongst the old school Baja buffs out there... then nothin' will.

and kickin' myself, all at the same time...

From Catavina to Santa Rosalita will be tough if you have a problem out on the coast, there aren't too many ways to get in there other than on the race course. Same goes for the section from Jesus Maria to El Arco. With us cars doing the section from Catavina to Santa Rosalita on the first day, the route will be nice and burned in and should be fairly easy to follow for you guys!

Actually, bikes will be running Catavina to Santa Rosalita on Sunday morning, and cars following on Sunday afternoon. Follow the bike tracks...

Race For The Wounded will be putting a young Paratrooper on Honzilla the 1972 Honda SL350 this year with LAMEco racing. Russell Pearlman joined the Army in May of 2001 and was in 3/505 PIR 82nd Airborne. After his first deployment to Afghanistan, the 3/505 was sent to Iraq where Russell was wounded in a firefight. Russell took a round to the leg that ended his time as a Paratrooper, he was medically discharged in 2005. He now works at Camp Roberts using his combat experience to helping young men and woman getting ready to deploy to combat. He trains them in the Reconfigurable Vehicle Tactical Trainer.

As some of you know we had the first double leg amputee in the 1000 this year. We timed out at RM760, so we hope that we can ensure that we make the finish for Russell!

We hope to see all of you at the race, if you do see us please stop by and say thank you to Russell, he sacrificed a lot for all of us.

CONTACT #'s

Anyone have a solid list of contact #'s for race support etc to pass along to those at "HOME" who are tracking the SPOT trackers?

I'd like to have the phone tree lined up if something were to go wrong and I had to hit the SOS button.

Matt, in 12 I gathered some at the riders meeting in the bullring. A good spot to have all the bikers together and maybe a group photo !
