"Everyone races his own race, in his own way, with what he thinks will get him to the finish line. Please ignore my opinions if they don't suit your needs, but you shouldn't think that I'm trying to force them on you. Best of luck to you in your Baja efforts, be safe, and have fun!"

to be clear this is my +1 - don't die wondering what it would have been like to race, just jump and build the parachute on the way down...

whatever anyones opinion on radios or whatever is great. Just come and experience the magic of Baja and NORRA and don't sweat the small stuff.

Nice Johnny!
You are a mad man!
Just saw a Vespa with a exhaust on it at a bike night and it sounded awesome.

nice! FYI guys they get your make/model for these and the stickers are cut in a way that has them go on the bike nicely. At least the ones I bought for the DRZ last year, were nice.

not so fast is done.... i was able to track myself using my iphone. in less than 1 minute, my spot location showed up on the screen. satt signal was at least 4 bars.

Being a guy that comes from roadracing do you guys safety wire your rally bikes ? Seems like with the long distances it would be a good idea or do you loctite everything or what ?

Lots of loctite. Ziptie the spokes. Check all fasteners often on the first day. generally if their still tight at the end of Day 1, they'll stay tight for the remainder (but still check everything each night)...

For any long distance off-road race (B1k, Mex1K ect) I safety wire the brakes, oil drain and anything that is suspect on the particular model. For KTMs the shock bolts, shifter bolt, and the pinch bolt on the upper triple clamp. I also pin the oil filler cap and leash the pin with saftety wire. There is no good way, that I could see, to do this for the kickstart so I just ziptie it to the frame. If I need it (never) I would have to break the zip ties to use it.
