It was a year ago today that his family and the racing community lost Jimmy Stocker to the sport he obviously loved at the 2013 Mexican 1000.

Over the past year, NORRA has really stepped up in many ways to improve the safety of the event, but let's all remember that it is a dangerous sport.

Ride safe!!!

RIP Jimmy...

Man I wish all of you guys good luck. (green with envy)
I think part of IRC's job is to make things complicated/annoying/expensive. I remember the mounts AZCagiva posted, we used them in the 500 and 1000 in ~05-06. I also remember the kit being pretty expensive for what it was, but IRC promised everyone it was the new standard and we would get pleanty of use out of them. The next year they had a different setup and more mount kits to buy.

Need Go-Pro Footage from Norra Mexican 1000

Dudes:

M1K is coming up and I'm in search of high quality Go-Pro video with clear shots of Nav tower, Roadbooks, ICO etc. (probably a chin mounted camera, am I being too picky?)

I would love speed shots in different terrain, riding alone or following somebody, starting line etc....whatever looks cool to be included in a Rally Navigator promo video.

Can a few of you guys please get some good footage (Still shots are welcomed also!) and send it my way. I can easily share a Google Drive folder to send the data files.

PM me when you get home safely or email me at mike@rallynavigator.com

Thanks!

I will definitely be shooting some GO Pro as I have the past two years..... I'm not sure the speed will be the fastest since I will again be aboard the 1971 Honda SL350 we affectionately call Honzilla! But the noise from those straight pipes ........... obviously the ladies like it!

Looks like our team logistics are shaping up. Did anyone put together a list of ADV entries? Any shared SPOT tracking pages this year?

We have some video of our two LAMEco Racing vintage bikes from last year's effort if you are interested....

just sayin!

We ran all 1200 miles last year without a GPS on a 1971 motorcycle. We had planned to run my GPS but the darned thing worked perfect until the day of the race and we never got it working.

In all honesty not having the magic GPS line to follow increased my enjoyment of the race immensely. There was only one time during the last 90 miles where I felt I might be racing the wrong direction.

Plus If I would have been racing the GPS line I would have never gotten so much hilarious enjoyment out of the "BROWN DIRT" turn on the roadbook. I blew right by that chocolate colored toilet and had to backtrack...... laughing like a maniac.

ICO and Roadbook for me!!!!!

Yes- we ran the entire race 2 years ago without GPS or a roadbook.

We just followed the ribbon of tracked up dirt and dust for 1200 miles too!

Hoping to carry the GPS track on the iPhone as a backup should things go to shit.!
