Yosemite Rally Fundraiser March 29th

Hey fellow inmates in the San Francisco Bay Area!

We have a motorcycle rally from SF to Yosemite scheduled for March 29th. Its a fundraising rally to raise money to buy bikes for the National Park Rangers protecting Lake Hovsgol, Mongolia. Here is a link to the site where you can get more info and register...

www.bluewavesmongolia.org/yosemite

And a great article about the Yosemite Rally...

http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/847/18...mite-Ride.aspx

There will be around 150 riders participating in the rally and will be supported by a support crew with mechanics, trucks and trailers for any breakdowns. The ride will be lead by an expert rider for those who need that or will be given maps of the best routes for those who don't. The ride will conclude at a Yosemite Resort where we have 2 bands and a big party planned. A great way to meet some great riders and to support a worthy cause.

Great rides and highly recommend the south hwy 41 entrance from Oakhurst and hit up Miami creek OHV for some fun trails in a great location

Great choice, staying at Yosemite Bug Hostel. I have stayed there many times. The little cafe has some really good gourmet food, too.

You can also arrange a massage at the onsite spa. Might be a good way to get relaxed and limbered up for the second day of riding.

Rain or Shine

Just a heads up for you ADV Riders that have registered online for the Yosemite Rally at www.bluewavesmongolia.org/yosemite.

Rain is in the forecast so bring your rain gear! We are all riding no matter what the weather holds in store for us...we are ADV riders after all! Rain or Shine we will see you Saturday morning in SF at 8 a.m. The offroad section for those on capable dual sport bikes should be fun and muddy! A hot tub and a cold beer will be waiting for you at the resort.

Can't wait for Saturday's ride and to meet you ADV Riders that have signed up for the rally!

That was a great event!

I heard a lot of riders talking about the section of road between Yosemite and Midpines, so wrk2surf probably spotted them.

I live in Sonora, so my wife and I just met the group in the evening. The music was great, and the beer very cold. That huge hot tub was pretty awesome too. Who knew adventure riders could throw down the dance moves to bluegrass tunes?!

Thanks for the invite, and I wish you guys the best in Mogolia.

It was an amazing rally!

We lost about half of our expected riders for the rally due to the rainy start. The bad asses still showed up. And what a start it was!! It dumped on us big time the way out of the city but once we cleared the Caldecott we had clear skies the rest of the day and had an awesome ride! The party that night rocked and we raised some decent cash. The owner of the resort decided to donate all profits for the day to our Mongolian Rally because of losing the riders that were scared of a little rain...and the resort was booked solid so we did all right! A big thanks to Josh Prentiss for leading a great rally and thanks to those of you that participated! What an amazing group of motorcyclists!

A big thanks to Doug Shaw, the owner of the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort. Doug is also a participant rider in the Mongolian Rally this July.

Check out his resort...we love the place!

Good times, great roads, nice folks, good charity. The rain was no big deal.

Really enjoyed Wards Ferry Road on Saturday. That was a new one for me. I peeled off on Sunday and rode straight to Sacramento up 49/Jackson Road.

The Yosemite Bug is a cool place.

Cheers

Bikes for the Rangers!

With our Yosemite Rally and other fundraising events we have raised 80% of the money we need to buy and deliver these off-road motorcycles to the rangers at Lake Hovsgol National Park Mongolia. Yamaha just came on board and is giving us an amazing price on the bikes as they want to be a part of this. So we are doing a big fundraising push this month to meet our goal and get the bikes ordered by the May 2nd deadline. Here is a link to my new Indiegogo page. Contribute if you can. If you can't will you help us out by sharing the link with your network? Post on Facebook or Twitter etc. Its not often that motorcycles can be the key factor in saving a pristine wilderness...

Thanks
