RIDE ON!
Howdy. Pete is loving your/his bike. Riding at least once a week, but always on his own. Hoping for Abigail bike ride the week after Super Bowl. Since weather is still good, thinking about running down through Julian and across the imperial valley and then back up through the Mojave preserve. Overnights somewhere down by the border and Laughlin or even Baker.

Been overly busy past few weeks so no riding at all. New 500 EXC in the garage never ridden. , but spring is coming and I want to ride often.

Planning stages- for those interested: Rocky Mountains- Stem to Stern. Trucking bikes to Albuquerque via U-Haul. Doing the ridge all they way to Glacier National Park. Either slabbing it back or U-Haul home. Reason for U-Haul to Albuquerque; I'm going to run knobies and I don't want to wear them out on the highway there. Two other riders in. Mid July depending on snowpack.

PM me. Always looking to ride local stuff when there's nobody on the trails. Ever pop over to the Rock Inn for a burger and beer? Drink water thru San fransiquito and over the gap. The discovery trail is on the route too.

A "shorty" next Friday and Saturday, Super Bowl weekend. Back in time for kickoff. Big or small, 50/50 running through tehachapi, Twin Oaks, bod fish and over to Kernville. Back down 178 and run the power line through Redrock and over to Mojave, then back home through the canyons. Two good trails outside Bodfish and great twisties in Caliente.

I'm interested. I'd probably take the Husky 650, unless it turns into a small bike ride.

Sorry for no response for a few weeks. Other than burning the crap out of my wrist doing a battery to frame connection with my watch, (3rd degree burns), and getting the flu for three weeks, no riding...until now.

Short notice but leaving for Arizona on big bikes this Friday if anyone is interested. Just a four or five day partial AZ discovery trial and some southern AZ back roads. I'm needing a fix.

Next ride. Death Valley- small bikes: leaving March 13th to Ridgecrest to arrive Thursday night. Staying there and leaving the truck/trailer. Friday morning- off to Trona, Golar wash, and eventually Beatty, NV for the night, back to Furnace Creek on Saturday, and head back to the truck on Sunday. 500 or so odd miles on my new 2014 KTM 500 EXC. ( for those who might be interested and know what bike to join in with). Interested? Jerry 661-816-6949 text or call. Rooms are filling up fast in DV but should be a great quickie.

Ride after that? Weekend of April 4th approximately, for a 4-5 day to San Felipe, mikes sky ranch, coco's, Alfonsinos and back to San Felipe. If you never done Baja, it's a blast and I've done it enough to find my way to some fun routes. PM or call if interested.

I don't know exactly about qualifying, but I sure as hell love to ride!
I live in Castaic, lived in Agua Dulce for several years so I know that area.
I have kids, so I can't always get away for days at a time, but occasionally.

My buddies, the guys I used to ride with own "Adventure" motorcycles of varying types and sizes, but they aren't real "Adventure" riders. They ride....once a year, bringing their camping gear and then stay in a Holiday Inn. If they join me on other occasions, the small bike group, we ride...until it's time for a beer. That's a good thing except when the beer break comes at the first 30 minute mark. Two hour beer break then another 30 minute ride. Not adventure by any stretch, unless you consider riding on the road with a .16 blowing the meter. Can your dual sport outrun a cop on the highway? Mine can't.

Anyway..I'm located in the SCV and ride often, weekdays or weekends whenever I can break away. Looking for fellow inmates who want to do more than an afternoon in the San Gabriel's . 300 miles for a day ride and a quick run through Death Valley for a weekend. I can ride with just about anyone and have the bikes to match -big, small, or street only. I'm almost an old bastard. At least that what my son-in-law says, but I can still pull him on most trails and all roads. I ride right from the house or trailer the smaller ones to wherever we can find a good and long route, (I know many), even off to Moab or Colorado for a 4-5 day ride on my 690, or slab it to Utah on the GSA to ride the Arizona strip.

You will have to endure the occasional Cuban cigar and American bourbon, (I don't drink scotch), and on rare occasions, my lazy ass buddies who may get jealous cause I'm riding and want to tag along. Other than that, I can change a tire in less than 15 minutes, carry my own tools, and over prep my bikes to ensure of no breakdowns. I've also been known to share my Cubans, and I promise to never ask you for your scotch.

Sound off here and let's start a new riding group...and yes Noobs are invited so long as your bike is in good shape.

Jerry (Motomochila- motorcycle backpacking)

The only qualifying is a well prepared motorcycle and the ability to come along and join in for a ride.

Send me a PM and join me for whatever ride you can steal away for. Looking to break in the new 500 on Saturday and doing Death Valley the following Thursday thru Sunday. Room for one more if your inclined.

I'll ride with ya. I'm not in the Valley, but just over the hill in Upland. You riding big bikes or 500's on the Rockies trip? I'm assuming big bikes if you're considering slabbing back.

I'm riding to 3 Step Hideaway opener May 3rd if anyone's interested. It's in Utah on the TAT near the Colorado border.

Just got back yesterday from a three day jaunt to Death Valley.

515 miles with 300+ off-road on my 500 EXC. My son and my son-in-law both on orange enjoyed my route. Unfortunately Titus Canyon was closed. I made up for it by paying for their lousy steak dinner in Beatty, NV on the first night. Even the whiskey was cheap in Beatty, better at Furnace Creek though.

Next ride planned: AZBDR on or about the 3rd of April. 4-5-6 days or jump in and do a section and head home after the weekend. The AZBDR is for big or small bikes. Per the Butler Map route, it's mostly dirt roads with only a few moderately difficult sections that can be ridden around.

Post up if your are interested. I'll post details later this week.

Jerry

I'm new to the SF Valley. I'm in for day rides on Sat or Sun, either big or little bike friendly. Overnight rides if there's enough notice. I'm a bit of a n00b, but my bikes are reliable and I know how to fix a flat. I'm slow so I don't break much when I crash (bike or rider).

Since I'm new to the area, I'm interested in general in learning the riding areas not far from here.
