Cheap LC4 Brake pads?

Rocky mountain has crazy cheap sintered brake pads at 14 bucks and change but they only list older 620 models up till about 1998. I suspect some of these 620 pads might be identical to the 2003 LC4 640 Adventure pads but I'm not sure since I'm relying on memory here. Anybody know if older
1996-1998 KTM 620 models have pads that are the same as 2003 LC4 640?
I've tried comparing on the KTMtalk parts board and some of the old bikes take the same part number but, the problem is that Rocky mountain seems to have come up with their own nomenclature for some of the older bike models and I'm not sure which is the right bike to match to the KTMtalk parts fiche. I've gotta an E-mail into rocky mount since the phone method was a strike out. (no no-it-alls around). Thought I ask here. I think my 1995 Lc4 620 RXc used the same pads but that isn't how they named it on the rocky mount site. Help!!

I just ordered some and was surprised that they went UP to $14.99. They used to be $9.99.

Here's what I order for my 1999 640 LC4: TA208R5 rear, TA181R6 front.

Even OEM pads are dirtcheap compared to rotors? How are these aftermarket sintered pads on OEM rotors, do the rotors hold up just as well as with the OEM pads?

I think "cheap brake pads" is some sort of an oxymoron.

I grew up learning how to rivet material onto brake shoes (yes, I'm actually older than that old fucker Mr. Hickson).....

i was pretty impressed when my real mechanic filed my points instead of just replacing them awhile back. i wonder where this new world of disposable everything is taking us...

oh, and by the way: no, i ain't old. my truck at the time was older than me. gawd it was a great truck!

Somewhere... deep in the bowels of my "old shit I used to use" cabinet, I have a genuine H-D brake and clutch lining riveting tool. Weighs about 60 pounds and is free standing. Looks kinda like a spidery little arbor press on legs.

So although you are an older gent (quite obvious in your latest avatar)... you ain't got nothin' on me, Geezer.

I don't think I ever posted in the "Loaded's got a brand new bag filter" thread, and it's not like he needs defending or any stuff, but at a lousy $12.50 a filter, If Loaded wants to buy 3 or 4 filters a year rather than clean and reuse... so what?

And last but not least, and to return to the original point of this thread... I rarely "cheap out" on anything, but if I did, brake pads would not be on the "how cheap can I buy something" list.

I just saved a bunch of money on my brake pads!

BTW, my rear rotor looks like the rings of Saturn with the OEM pads (3400 mi from the P.O.). Thus, I thought they were crap.
