Thanks. Its lots of fun setting up a dual sport from an off road bike.

Heads up. Im pretty sure the 03 WR is ac powered at the headlight, hopefully you also got the rectifier??

Hey, so Ive been waiting on a solution to the gen2 KLR h7 issues, but I figure why not get proactive?

Do you have a current production "dead" light (one that doesnt work or cant be sold) so I can try to figure out how to get it to work on the 08s? If you do, shoot me a PM and Ill see what I can come up with

Still looking for a local KLR rider, sorry no dead gen 2 style Bulbs.
In full disclosure we have seen a few failures on the H4,H7 but with more than 3k bulbs sold we are pretty pleased with that low number, never the less we are dissecting and taking in info to make a better product.

One tip I might mention is that to remove the base push slightly down then twist.
Thanks again

Puling DC Power

So while I'm doing all of this wiring anyway, is there any reason why I can't just put DC power to the headlight from the switch and just ignore the AC headlight power it had before. I have to connect power to the switch anyway, why not just switched DC Power and tape off the factory headlight connection?

By the way, I got the rectifier in the mail today. Thank again for the super fast shipping. But, if I can avoid installing one more part and finding a place to hide it I might.

The H4 has been installed in my SER since March of this year and all is well. Paired with my Rigid Duallies, I can spot mouse eyes a mile out.........

Laugh

Let me start out by saying I was a little skeptical about LED lamp replacements from my experience with HID conversions and many years as a Lighting Designer. Reflectors are specifically designed to work with a specific light source and so on...

I read through most of this thread and decided to take the plunge, seeing that Off Road Ryder is a stand up guy and feeling if it didn't work out or fit I would just return it.
After doing the simple and straightforward install on my NineT I agree with how Off Road Ryder honestly describes the "upgrade".
On this bike at least, it's doesn't keep the hard edges BMW designed into the low beam to keep the lights out of other drivers eyes, it kind of diffuses the area where the light falls off, I can see in my photos how it will work better, even on low beam, to get cagers attention. Even better with high beam on.
Better peripheral illumination for cornering for sure and I like the color temperature too, it stand out in the crowd without being too blue or "cool".

Overall I feel it's a good upgrade and am happy with the purchase - to improve visibility to others and it obviously gives a much better spread for cornering at night.
The Cyclops doesn't seems to have quite a focused beam projecting light dead center downrange as the OEM lamp, but that's something I can deal with for the other benefits. My OEM high beam was good when going straight, but when turning it left a lot to be desired being a little too focused.
Par for the course to not have a perfectly focused beam when you change a light source and far better than any HID conversion lamp created beam spread I've tried to use.

Now, Off Road Ryder, next time time you want to send out some free lamps for testing, just asking for photos and a few words in return, don't waste your time with these no good lazy FF's and hit me up. We have a CRF250L that uses a H4 or I'd like to try your OPTIMUS LED light out on the NineT too and I likey to make some photos and have been known to ride a little now and then...

Thanks for a great product and super fast shipping!

Thanks!

I had the headlight of my KLX off yesterday and checked the clearance that would be required for 1 of these to fit. I think it may so will be ordering 1 soon. (however, it will be very tight and may need a bit of massaging)
