RR cont'd

Sorry for the interruption, Photobucket shut me down for exceeding the bandwidth.

For the second last riding day I returned to Green River. I figured after a week the trails would be in better shape...well maybe not. I got skewered by this innocuous looking wash in the first few minutes:

The rear end sank right in, I had to lay it over to free it up.

I tried to pickup the singletrack near Crystal Geyser; except I couldn'
t find it! After about 1/2 hour of searching I concluded it had been wiped clean by the storm. I guess singletrack motorcycle trails don't have much long term impact.

I ended up taking some of the spur trails out to the Green River. Many of these trails are faint and hard to follow.

I ended up going down 10 mile canyon. It was so wet I turned around and headed back inland.

to be continued...

Well,....might have made it in 1974 on my Bultaco.

Yep, looks steep to me too. !
Great report. Fantastic country. Is that Eagle canyon running under the I70 bridges or another similar spot ?

Hey thanks for this report. I have some tracks to try Cathedral probably September. I rode Smokey Mountain last year from Big Water. The wash was running deep then too, so I diverted up Smokey Hollow. That was interesting because no vehicle tracks were there to follow. It worked out, though.

Wild country and pretty lonely when solo. Thanks again.

PS: Page is the biggest ripoff I've found in those parts. You can do better in NYC!

Hi Phil,

Yes, that is Eagle canyon running under the I70 bridges. Judging from my maps it's also the same canyon where I got stuck for 2 hours off trail 646.
