Quit Forest Rally Moto 4-6 April 2014

I just received this email from the organisers today.

Hi All

This is just a quick email to let everyone know that the 2014 Quit Forest Rally MOTO will be running on the weekend of 4-6 April. We would welcome all past competitors to come and join us and hopefully a few new ones. If you know of any likely competitors, please pass this email onto them.

Course Format: At this stage we will not be running the Busselton Stages on the Friday Night, unless there is over whelming call for them to be back on. If you would like Busselton to run, please let me know. In Nannup the roads will be the same as the rally cars with no deviations onto the minor tracks. We have changed the rally course slightly to reduce some of the fast straights as much as possible. The Side-by-Sides will also be running with the rally cars, so the Motor Bikes and Quads will be grouped together. There will be around 206kms of competitive stages.

Entry Fee: The Entry Fee will be slightly up from 2013 at $400.00

Scrutiny and Documentation will be on Saturday 29th March.

Accommodation: We recommend the Moto crews stay in Nannup. The Vintage Motorcycle Club have arranged a ride and overnight stay in Nannup on the same weekend and I have not been able to get them to change weekends, so we would suggest booking as early as you can. Call the Nannup Visitor Centre for assistance on 9756 1211 or email nannupcp@iinet.com.au

Regulations and Entry Forms will be available soon. A slight hiccup is that Jaybo is not available to be the Clerk of Course. If anyone knows of someone who would like to step into the role, can you please let us know.

So if anyone knows anyone who would like to be the Clerk of Course that would be very handy.
I can't say I would miss the Busselton stage at all but its disappointing to see that they won't be using the diversions from the car course.

So who is in?

You don't need any fitness for this one Richard. Its easy. Just do it.
But you might want to get fit for the Yilgarn Rallye though.
Is the Kato new?

Do I really need a roadbook and ICO's if the bikes are now doing the same course as the cars, I reckon I can follow the tracks, ( I'll be travelling slow enough ) otherwise it's an added expense that I have to convince the wife I need.

which bike 510 or 610 ?, one is a lot easier to ride than the other, with good tractable power whilst the other is a beast. Both have great suspension but do need a bit of work.

Depending on a few things I'm in, the 450 is an 07 so a bit old and worn out like me

610 going on the lift this weekend, forks off, rear shock out. Sort out 2 sets of tyres, 1 set for the 610 and a set for the 510 ( wheels interchangeable ) , new air filters on order as spares.

Just have to sort out some form of roadbook.

Anyone heard from Pete ?

how about Revsinc on the 511

Baden on the big girl,

Pilbara on some grenade

Can sort out Ken and Trish's place again if you want ( mmmmm roast dinner ) , team ADV coming together . travel straight to Nannup Friday night. Need some full on mechanics/ support team .

tough gig, but you have to grin and bear it

you'll get to mix with some of Australia's top riders, the bloke that rides this bucket should be there

a good chance to meet some great blokes in a laid back event.

hopefully Warren should be back on a bike

who else will be there ?????

Steady on Bully. You don't want to over prepare.
