Thanks guys.
Staying upright and not coming last are my goals for the weekend.
Ambitious I know, but we'll see how we go.

Nannup bound

Ian & Koos will leave Byford Caltex around 7 AM and head down via Dwellingup > Nanga > Tullanullu > Collie > more dirt to the Special close to Balingup.

Hoping to be there to see the motos come through.

Will catch the rest around there or in Nannup.

Good luck Howard

I left down there this morning Howard had managed to keep it upright all day yesterday. Grabbo had a nice little chat to some of us about Dakar and his commitments (or lack of ) for the year. No Warren or Matt this year though the field was down to 10. Be interesting to see what happens next year.

Well done Howsrd....and a great relaxing weekend...for some of us

Well done Howard, awesome riding on the big girl and great to see.

Davey, good on you for helping Howard for the weekend.

Bully thanks for the arranging the accommodation and organising dinner and brekky supplies….and the guard dog. Big thank you to Ken & Trish for the Nannup hospitality.

Ian thank you for company and the route down to Nannup…..everyone for the companionship and putting up with the “when we were riding in Bolivia…..” comments.

Two Leaks

*I made it home from the QFR ok. Just slabbed it home on the hwy due to an ever increasing fluid leak.
It really made itself known 10km out of Nannup where on closer inspection the tell tale under the water pump had a mixture of fluids coming out of it. Mostly coolant.
$122 in parts and l should be up for a test run this Sunday to Poppo food van for lunch or somewhere similar.

Great weekend although l may have had a sleep in the gutter for a while at one stage, have to wait for photographic evidence. Good company/food and exciting cars and bike to watch.
Hillbilly sure can ride that big girl around. Great stuff.

Top weekend chaps, well done Howard and Bully.

Went home on a bit of dirt and a bit of tar, the bit of tar felt a lot longer than usual on the Two Fiddy.

got a few photo's to share

Howard rides this pig to the event , which is 280kms south of Perth, so the first thing to do is get it race ready

numbers going on, Sprocket and Howard doing the prep

Howard assured me that he had got the bike ready, he cleaned the airfilter and added some oil, last time it was ridden was out to desert Queen Baths for the Desert Raid.

good pig...ready to go.

out on the course and we got the tail end of the cars, we've had about 2mills of rain in the last 140days, so the ball bearings were very slippery, the cars struggled as well.

then Grabbo was the first of the bikes

the quads looked spectacular as always

Howards turn

One of the south west school teachers give it a shot on a stock Tenere

Nice old XR 400

good to see a female competitor

we went back in to service then out to the oval for the last of the days competitive stages

Cody Crocker in the SXS

not everyone was impressed

we tried to get him to give this bloke a squirt......but poor Cheech had had a big day, not as big as Rod's though

Safaribergs immaculate buggy, be interesting to see how it goes at Condo

this is something you don't see very often

Did you see that Rod had a sleep

a couple more cars...I loved this old esky

Yamaha racing coloured Esky

this thing was a Vauxhall Chevette, a bloody big V8 in it

first run down , a chance to look at the corner, then give it s#%t on the second run.

Howard had told me earlier in the day he would come out a bit wider and asked me to get some photo's from in front, managed to snap this one.

just for you Howard, I gave it a trim

brekkie at Ken and Trish's before I left

all up a great weekend, no crashes, no damage, top 10 finish.

Thanks to all that make it such a great event.

No, the pig still lives Jamie.
Well the damper was useless because all of its oil was all over the tank and me but the 21" front is a must do conversion in my opinion. It is a lot more sure footed in all conditions except on bitumen of course. That could be largely due to the far better tyre choice in 21"

Some great pics there Bully. Good stuff
