AZ folks, Alb,NM to Phoenix??

Hi experienced AZ riders,

we're in Albuquerque overnight, heading to Phoenix tomorrow.
We're in a cage (Honda Accord) and I've been this way once,
took the I-40, I-17 super slab and there was some decent scenery.
That's listed as 6 1/2 hours.

Option A: I-40 to Grants, 117, 191, 260, Payson, 87. 7 1/2 Hrs

Option B: I-40 farther to Holbrook. 377, 260, 87. 6 hrs 45 mins.

Any heavy snow recently where A/B are bad choices?
What has good scenery yet not too long, time wise.

Thanks for any tips/ suggestions. Scenery or places to eat.
Sun City West, here we come!!

No snow. Temps have been warmer than normal. Option B would be a very nice ride.

Anything to stay off I-17... I hate that road.

Abq NM to Phoenix

Option A is really a nice drive / ride. I did that last May on my 990 and enjoyed the variety of scenery. South on 117 you can see the malpais to the west (volcanic flows) and the sandstone bluffs to the east.

Enjoy the drive.

I like the 25 south to 60 and then west through Pie Town. How can you go wrong passing through Pie Town?

Another route you may want to consider is through Salt River Canyon. Although dropping down into the valley off of the Beeline (87) is much better for where you want to end up.
