The market around here isnt exactly saturated with DS bikes but the market isnt that big for them either. There are good deals out there but most of what I see is a pretty standard price being paid.

My dad owns a bike shop about an hour away from Shreveport, and he doesnt sell a lot of dual sports just because of the lower demand of them compared to other bikes.

Well that's not great news, but it wont effect my decision.

Might be better off looking for something local or in CO or AR.

Cycle Zone of Texarkana. He sells used bikes. Mostly Japanese but he has had a few HD's lately. He keeps about 10-20 bikes on hand usually.

He has sold several KLR's and a few smaller DS bikes since he has been open but mostly cruisers and sport bikes.

Since our local riding area was shut down in the early 2000's, the dual sport and dirt market has crashed in Texarkana.

Check out Champion Cycle in Covington La.

They sell new and used with a consignment section.

No shortage of MX and trails in the area..... Try motosouth.com for the local off-road scene.

Thanks for info, I'll be sure to check into those if I do move down there (interview is tomorrow and hopefully all goes well with that).

Well, unfortunately the company I was interviewing with already filled there opening in Shreveport. But my interview with them today went well and now they want me to pick between 4 other locations and let 'em know my top 2 at which point they'll assign me. So it looks like I'm bound for Pleasanton, TX (15 min South of San Antonio) or Artesia, NM (halfway between Roswell and Carlsbad 30-45 min either way).
