More Taylor Park vid action - Doctor Park Trail single track stoke.

FU's Colorado Dirt Bike and Brew Tour prep continues. Last summer I ran a 606 out back and it was just OK. Left me searching for traction at times but never a fear of flats. That hard ass tire had to drop down to 8 psi just to get it to deform some. There is such varied terrain it's tuff to find that perfect tire. Trials were a popular choice but I'm old and change is sloooooow for this FF.

This weekend I added the new MX81 front and back for this years CO effort.

Last year I did 2 days at Durhamtown as a proper stress test. We'll run Tellico/ Murphy this weekend as a shake down run. I'm more curious about how the front reacts - the back just looks nasty!

A lot of guys run the Pirelli MT43 Trials Tire out west in CO. I tried one when I went out to CO. last Aug, and like it.

You guys are going to have a BLAST!

Do the trials tire! i can write you a prescription if needed... being a Dr. and all

The majority of the locals in CO run them for a reason.

The only place it doesn't work well is if it's a mud fest.

I ran one at one of the Beaver's and SV on my 450 and it's amazing how well it works.

Maps

Thanks to ShrderScott for the info on the maps. I've ordered them from Latitude 40. Everyone will not need/want one but I'll have them for us. I'm excited, never been out west to ride so looking forward to learning some of the area. :) Ride on peeps! haha.

Ok... Is it time to leave yet? Have plane ticket, got maps, got extra fuel, got sticker. .. Just booked a cabin. Phew. Haha.

Cabin sleeps 3 easy and up to 6. Right now it is just me. If you want to share let me know and I'll be glad to split the cost each night depending on how many stay.

Note. Cabin is at Monarch Spur about 2.5 miles from the Heart of the Rockies where alot of the group is staying. Will just ride down to hang out.

One car is also in the works from Denver airport to Salida, and would like to leave before noon on Friday as long as everyone's flights are on time. Right now it is me, and recrazyjax, possibly hawkman, so will have room for a 4th. Split four ways it will be about 125 a person.

Will head back to Denver the following Saturday.

Colorado snow pack

LOTS of snow still in mtns,

4-9inches forcast tonight for denver. There was 6 inches fresh this am in breckenridge.

I rafted browns canyon today, its between benua vista and sailda.

still very low water levels, ( not much melt yet ) and LOTS of snow going over fremont pass.

Hope the high passes will be open when u guys arrive. CDOT is trying to get indepence pass open reporting snow 30 feet deep in spots

http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=973979

oh I rode between benua vista and salida last week, got through, but snow 6-8 deep in places, and some trails were still impassable.

Looking to make reservations for Colorado. Which campground is everyone staying in Salida, Monarch Spur or Heart of the Rockies? What are the dates?

Dave, Monarch Spur. We'll use the other one for overflow if needed.
