TrophyHunter, thank you. I know there have been a few tips that have come to nothing. I had planned to call again to see where things were, but I hadn't thought to ask how they came to that conclusion. My friend Pete was in the back of the bike. He miraculously walked away with bruises, and I know he saw the car. It seems unlikely, however that he would have taken the time to notice Make/Model.

Thank you again.

Sent from my device upon which I can access nearly all knowledge in the world, yet which I actually use to look at pictures of motorbikes and cute dogs.

I sent some pictures to the detective I hope he gets them i had to send to the SDPD general mailbox while the T bird might not be the exact model (Ford has so many similar types
) it sure isn't the caddy they picked IMHO also makes Me question where they came up with their vehicle ?

Can't take the photo literally. It's highly distorted. They have experience interpreting these images.

Been in the digital imagery business since the beginning of capture devices. Helped develop techniques you saw inaccurately displayed on CSI 15 years later. Low grade images like that one are not accurate. The aspect ratio is OBVIOUSLY way off. Anyone can see that. Makes the car look longer, larger and implies an older vehicle. The lack of edge detail and angle of the shot make it more art than science to do anything with it. In house they have probably already corrected the image for their investigation and have good reason to post the probable car type listed.

But you go ahead and disagree.

Jeff - I'm going to PM you a name and number. The investigator has run out of options internal to the PD as far as imaging but if you're willing to offer suggestions, he's very open to trying anything. Please keep it private as calls can go to the general number. Thanks.

This is going to come down to identifying cars and interviewing as it appears there was no impact between the car and the bike. The car turned left in front of the bike and the bike went down. The car backed up and drove around the downed bike and rider/passenger and took off - friggin' despicable.

They are working crime stopper tips, have parking enforcement looking for it and have viewed 15 cars in the past week, interviewing the owners.

I'm sorry I can't provide more details but some things can't be out there for the integrity of the investigation.

Got your PM...

It is despicable... reminds you of that AZ quad rider that collided with a young man... then rode over to see his condition and then rode away. Even more surprising how many supported his self preservation actions.

I gotta believe this one will get worked hard. Neither of the cars posted here are wildly common. If the hitter is local there has to be a good chance to find that car. Hoping Hoping.

Got ur PM and passed on. Thx!

Yeah, we get about 40,000 cars crossing in from Mexico each day added to our local population. Let's hope for a local and that'd be my guess due to the time of day and location.

I'm really glad to see we've got the ADVrider Detective team on it.

I have read many times here where ADV has done what the public service departments can't do..

Here's hoping !

thanks for the permission I will continue to disagree
nothing you said convinced Me that is the correct vehicle

and I am never not critical of the "" experts"

lets hope they get this guy just like they did the quad rider in AZ

my only concern is the accountability due to no impact

I wasn't clear... sorry... I think your auto suggestion is just as likely based on the crappy distorted image that was released.

The point I was making is that "you simply can't rely on that image as to WHY they chose the car they did." Not sure how you can disagree with that. They have played with it... corrected it... seen it up close. They may already know that the gas fill door is square not round... you can't see that... so they may have already eliminated your suggestion.

Anyway... we are all trying to help... I just thought it odd you thinking you can tell from that low res crap image much of anything compared to the tech sitting with the raw data.

I want the bastard caught as much as you do... even if it is some little old lady driving the exact car you posted.

He hit the ground. I know the injuries but will respect the privacy of his family and friends and his memory.
