Yes, Glenn is still Club President. I'm trying to talk him into leading the fast burn guys, but I am not having any luck.

Try to talk Kenny Royster into leading the intermediate and put him on a 100cc.
Then, if we're on our A game, we might be able to keep up with him,,,,, if that old fart is still alive.

Kenny still around?

Yes, Kenny Royster is alive and going strong. He is living in south Alabama not sure of the name of the town. He drives up to Maplesville every Monday morning works at his lumber yard thru Thursday and go back home to south Alabama on Thursday night. I am hoping he will be at PMMC for the ride.

Will this include any of the enduro or 24 hour loops?

We can put some single track in. If we did, how long of a section? I do not want to make it to hard because some riders have never rode single track. Which would be better ,have the single track at the end and have an alternative route for the riders that want to go around or have the single track first when everyone is fresh?(If we had an alt. route at the start, the riders taking the alt. route would end up in front of the riders taking the single track which will most likely be the faster riders) The only time to have single track is either at the start or end while we are at PMMC. After we leave PMMC we will be going in to the Talladega National Forest.

This is our first time doing this so we want it to be good for everyone. So please give us feed back on what you want and how much of it.

I like the idea of putting singletrack up front - maybe even lead us up the rock field like the last perry mtn enduro I went to a year or 3 ago. that way if someone joins the singletrack groups then realizes they made a mistake and are riding above their head, they're still close to camp. then after a bit of hard an heavy singletrack give em a rest on some easy trail.

Personally I wouldn't mind a whole run thru of all the enduro trail, just at dual sport pace instead of race pace

I know there's a couple spots up there that during the race I think "man this would be a nice spot to stop and check out the view"

You guys have a wonderful opportunity to open up that section of Alabama to the DS crowd.

I would strongly recommend a route for the GS size bikes or advertise it is NOT GS friendly. There are a lot of ADV guys who would really enjoy the forest and would not enjoy what Hatch is talking about.

Even then I would not make this all about PMMC and their races but about the state forest. I am really looking forward to just riding the forest roads and enjoying the mountains...

Big items:

1)Food! ADVers love a good food spot. Any change there is a spot in Maplesville...or cater BBQ at the old school house location!
2)Small groups with GPS tracks for all.
3)Separate route for Big Bikes
4)Gas... don't forget about it. More spots the better.
5)Go arounds for sections where even good riders might want to go an easier way.
6)Expect people to be all over the place. Some folks like to get off on their own and just use GPS as a general guide.
7) Do NOT kill folks - this is not a race and will be judged by the fun, food, easy river crossings, and places to take pics.

Just sayin..... you did ask for it you know.

Being new to dirt riding I'd probably like to avoid the single track sections. Unless there is a really slow noob friendly group doing it.

I agree w/ Vic. I wouldn't mind doing some single track up there some time but the guys I've invited to this ride have very little off road experience and will be on 650's.

I'm all for food, fun and fellowship on this one.

Just my two cents (I'll be there either way)...

I just wanted to mention the title is dual sport ride. Let's take full advantage of having a tag.
