good mechanic in Santiago Chile

Hi there !

I have a Yamaha Tenere 2010 and i want to do a check up of the bike before going to Bolivia / Peru. I think the best place should be Santiago. Do you know a good mechanic that can help me ? Or if you recommend to do the revision more north of Chile ? Thanks :)

Johnny Motos is your man. I serviced my Super Tenere there in September (much of which I did myself - Johnny let me use his space and helped out on a few things) and I was back there in January for a valve clearance check. Good guy and reasonable prices for Chile.

We agree. We will be going back to him to finish off what we did not have time to do in January. Sara

Another alternative is Oscar Villablanca at:

JJO Motos
Copiapo 330
Tele 634 7244 / Cel 08 570 8491
Email oskarvr@msn.com
GPS: S 33 deg 27.172 min / W 70 deg 38.102 min

Oscar let me use his shop space and tools for some basic maintenance, but I would have gone to him in a heartbeat had anything else come up. He was highly recommended by multiple locals at the parts stores on Lira (GPS: S 33 deg 27.423 min / W 70 deg 38.217 min). I don't know if he speaks English.

See Carlos at motouring Chile

Carlos Ramerez at Motouring Chile is a great guy and very professional. All the local ADV'ers will know him.
Email him first at carlos@motouring.cl.
Two thumbs up from me.

Hi! I live in Santiago, and I have a 990adv, cb900f, Ktm 530, etc etc.

For me the best and professional workshop here is Mimoto. (www.mimoto.cl)

Claudio, the owner, prepares bikes for the Dakar Rally, with a lot of experience on big adventure bikes.

address: avenida cuarto centenario 785
tel (+562) 22049215

Carlos Ramirez, is really good too

I have been taking all my bikes to Claudio at MiMoto since 2003.
First competent and honest mechanic Ive found.

But ive been in Uruguay for a year. Has he moved from Av Italia con Santa Isabela?

Mechanic

Glad things are going well for him. Not so good for me as my apt was 3 blocks from his old shop, but I will still take all my bikes to Claudio.
