the blinkers mount to a the same plastic that the Hawk mount is on, nice try though! ;)

I'm going to see if there is a way to add some bracing to "something" that is rigid.

Bummer, I guess they flimsied it on the post 13's. Crash bar mount...???

I looked at a way to triangulate that setup, even if I were to tack on a bottom plate to get the arc to stop flexing, it's just too far out to be effective.

I think this setup is a throw away, time to go back to square one.

I think for the 13's and newer, if anyone wants to put on larger lights than the small 10W setups. either a crash bar mount, or a fork mount is the only way to go.

Would it be possible to lay a few CF strips along the inside on the plastic beak......or where ever needed, or is this a loosing battle.

i'm cracking open a beer, putting blazing saddles in the DVD in the garage and going to spend some time staring at it a bit.

I'm not admitting defeat yet. I'll keep the CF option open as well.

You know there will be nottin don on the bike with Blazing Saddles ripping. That is one fine movie.....add a beer, party is over....

I decided to go down my previous path again. This time with a bit more mass.

Thoughts on drilling through the headlight bracing behind that aluminum strap?with it in place, but not fastened to the forward mount, the entire thing flexes independent of the aluminum, if anything it would/should add rigidity to the entire assembly.

Ha ha... agreed. I don't know many who just strattles out in the 'rage, and grap scrap alu like that, mount it....all while sipping a brew, and watching saddle's... Impressive.... most impressive. Did it do the trick...???

Thanks man.

Not sure how it'll work, I ran out of time, need some longer fasteners, and I may still get some bracing welded to the bottom edge.

I'm also contemplating drilling through the plastic structure to pin it together.

My thigh is a bit bruised this evening from hand forming the aluminum over it. I remembered I had some leather sandbags for shooting only AFTER I did all that to myself. I blame the barley pops!

thanks for sharing your setup

I also purchased this mounts and they arrive this week, I was expecting to use them to mount a heavy LED but few days ago came to the same conclusion that the setup is as strong as the plastics and the expense to make it work was no acceptable for me.

the 2013 f8gs new flashers locations are being a real pain to find mounting spots to mount aux lights using third party brakets and the OEM mounts does not work for my aux lights because of the mounts ending.

I was thinking to use the SW brakets with lighter flashers just to use the mounts i already paid for not that I really want the flashers, but after your post I might end selling them and

Finished.

I didn't weld the plates, but I did pin them to the plastic fairing stay behind it mechanically.

it did help with the vibration a bit, so it wasn't all for not. I then figured out a way to get the lights back up on top with a couple of creative tweaks to get it to fit.

The vibration reduced by probably a magnitude of 10.

The wiring was pretty straight forward. I have it setup to be at 50% on low beam and 100% on High Beam using the Cyclops supplied dimmer. No fuse block needed. Pretty sweet setup.
