First off I want to thank all of you, & appreciate so much for your help & concern for this old guy's poor decision making & just plain stupidity Just want to say I LOVE YOU GUYS I recently bought from a friend a CRF230F. Put some add on's & a trials tire on it. Incredible bike to ride & it's now stuck in the high desert west of Bagdad. Was trying to retrace the trail in reverse we took by mistake on our Laughlin ride last year. Turned into a sand wash by mistake & started doing some rock hopping. Decided to turn back but could not get back up what I had already came down. Went on to where I could no longer go any further. Left the bike & hiked over boulders in this wash for 3 hours. Dark now & out of water & exhausted, put on all I had for extra cloths & laid down in the gravel. COLD At Dawn saw headlights coming down the wash. They did not see me jumping up & down as the path turned off before they got to me. Heard no motor running & started yelling & walking towards them. They were in a Razor. They gave me water & took me out to 97. Got cell service & called my wife. The only way I can think of retrieving it is to take the wash from the north end with 4 very fit guys & hike in to the bike with ropes & try & get it out. The plus is it only weighs 250. Here are some pics. of what I am talking about.

Started out nice enough.

This is what I tried going back up!

This was just down the way & looked forboding

IT WAS

Tom, I am really really glad you are ok! When you are ready if I am available I will help. But rather than 4 really fit guys how about 3 not so fit old guys like me, a couple bottles of tequila and we ride it out

Tom really? I do many hundreds of miles alone on the same stuff, on the same bike, but no Sat Phone or SPOT, then no lighter, what were you thinking? Also when it looks bad, I only go up hill as I know I can always get down anything I went up.

Another rule, start in the clothes you want to spend the night in.

AZ TOM, I'm glad you're home safe.
I have a SPOT II w/ tracking paid up for 11 months.
I'm unable to ride for the short term and I'd be glad to send it to you as a loaner for the next several months if you're interested.
Let me know...
