Question Looking for an independent motorcycle mechanic in the Hoover, AL area

We are recent transplants to the great state of Alabama and I've always had my Concours serviced at the dealer where I bought my bike at. Now that I don't have that relationship anymore, I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a good mechanic in the Hoover, AL area. While I was loyal to my dealer, I'd like to give an independent mechanic my business.

Thanks,

Chris

Welcome to Alabama!

I do all my own work, so I don't have a need for a service department. However, many of my riding friends have had great success with Terry's Two Wheel in Pelham (just south of Hoover) and it is considered by many to be the best in the area. I know Terry and he is a great guy.

Unfortunately, while looking up the link for you,
http://www.terrystwowheel.com/Terrys_Two_Wheel/Home.html
I found out that Terry's just closed after many years of great service. It is a sad day for motorcyclist in the Birmingham area that he has moved on to other things.

I would recommend that you contact Joe Bruton here http://www.brutonvintagemotorcycle.com/
and get a recommendation from him. Joe used to restore bikes at the Barber Museum before going out on his own. If there is anyone local that you could trust with servicing your bike, he would probably be able to direct you to them.

A lot of local riders are plugged in to
http://bamarides.com/
so you can get signed up there for more info and local happenings. The sign up to get on the forum is...uh....shall we say tedious....to put it nicely, but there are a lot of good riders on the forum.

Hope that helps.
