It was'nt too serious Troy, but Stefan would not accept my offer of the CamelBack enema, you must have warned him about it before they left Sweden!!

Trying like hell to make it real. They seem like they'd be nice enough to take me. And Morocco is really nice!

Itd be my first foray into shipping my own bike overseas to race... thats a big hurdle, mind if I get your notes? Otherwise- look out 2015! Phoenix rising :lol

No worries on the berg? Howd you service? what'd you bring along? Any issues?

Speak to the guys at Torque racing mate. I just shipped my bike to them in the UK and they did the rest. Highly recommend.

If you have the time to freight by sea you will save heaps in $$$.

The race was great and the Orga good to deal with. Lots of friendly folks. I have friends at home who have watch the daily videos and have all commented how friendly and happy everybody looks. It's pretty much how it was.

People just like you Jason (cattlegrid!)

You would be in your element.

Yeah the Orga is absolutely fantastic, although they are kind of amateurs it is extremely well organized. I'm in, that's for sure.

Finally got back home this afternoon after a marathon journey back from Tunisia these past couple of days - that's a story in itself!

I'm going through my photos now, and will post up a selection shortly, hopefully with a few extended captions to describe what was going on at the time - if my frazzled brain can remember anything other than miles and miles of French motorway...

More soon!

Jenny xx

One of my faves...

Tales from the Bivouac - Tuareg Rallye 2014

Photos? - you want photos? OK then!

Just when you thought it was safe to get on with all those weekend projects you had planned, yep, I've got a batch of photos for you to sit back with and enjoy!

I've tried to split them into two groups - the first will be the behind-the-scenes and more candid shots I took around the Bivouac, the Torque Racing team truck and at the start of some of the stages...

We have of course already seen some awesome action and portrait photography from Rallymaniacs and Alessio Corradini to name but two this year... and while I can't begin to compare with their creativity and technical ability, I do hope I can offer my own perspective on the event, and at the same time not repeat too much of what has gone before - goodness knows I'm aware how impossible it is to be in two places at once!

So I will start this story somewhere approaching the beginning, although the chronology may well go to pot somewhere along the line...

Monday March 3rd (goodness that feels like an age away now!) - 4 days before Scrutineering, and I travelled to Tunisia with Donna Gray in their latest Torque Racing assistance van, where we met with Mattias Karlsson from OffroadService.SE who last year supported a team of Swedish riders, and this year has joined forces with Torque Racing who would provide service assistance for 16 riders - nine Brits, five Swedes, a lone Aussie, and Kazunori Itou who was flying in from Japan and renting a bike.

Martin and Donna transferred the additional UK bikes into Mattias' truck from the 2nd Torque Racing van (that was returning to the UK), then we headed south for Genoa and the boat to Tunisia in two days' time...

For the 2014 edition, the Tuareg Rallye was once again based in Douz in the south of Tunisia, at the Sahara hotel that, as you might imagine, is right on the edge of the Sahara desert - and a particularly soft patch at that!

One of the Torque Racing riders #300 Andrew Newland (GBR) had entered on his brand new KTM 450RFR... boy was he going to be in for a shock!

ADV inmate (SergeUK) #42 Roger Hawkins (GBR) has also built a brand new bike for 2014. Until this year he was piloting a Rally-Raid EVO1 KTM690, but after finding it a handful in the soft Tunisian dunes last year, returned with a featherweight KTM450EXC with some trick Ohlins suspension and a tidy bar/fork mounted Nav set up...

As part of the UK contingent, this little fella also found it's way down to Tunisia - yes, that's right, the first production engined Rally-Raid Products LC4-50 was here for some testing while the rally was going on!

Martin Wittering (Torque Racing) & John Mitchinson (Rally-Raid Products) are the brains and brawn behind the LC4-50 project - both are as mad as a box of frogs, but damn they can take a left-field concept and make it work!!!
