Terra-izing the CDR

One man + one Husky Terra 650 + 100 year flood = a wild adventure on the Continental Divide Trail, September 2013.

***edit: typo corrected for date from 2014 to 2013

Well, it actually started with two men & two bikes, and high spirits. With two weeks X'd off the work calendar, we spurred our ponies westward. No thought given to anything raining on our parade. Aaah....the best laid plans of mice & men.

I've wanted to ride the CDR for several years, but life kept getting in the way. Two weeks earlier, 10-Cup called me to see if I had any interest. Timing was perfect! This was my shot and I was All In. At departure, my 20 year old son stared me down and gave a loud proclamation: NEVER TAP-OUT

With prophetic resonation, it burned into my soul. Played over and over in my head like a stuck LP record, while slabbing across the hot Oklahoma plains. Positive encouragement or a bad omen....who could say?

WARNING: Lots of photos to follow. There will be more showing than telling in this RR. Something like this,

Fill your popcorn and follow along, IF you want to see new vantage point of well worn trail. Nothing better to chase the mid-winter blues away.

I'm reminded of the immortal words of Chief Lone Waite to Outlaw Jose Wales: "endeavor to persevere!"

Let's roll...

HF
