I know! It's why I sold my streetbike, never felt entirely comfortable on pavement, where I have to worry about others, so I'm still cautious. But, my mind goes apeshit when I hit the dirt, and feel way more confident. The DR is a perfect fit for what I love to do! That's why, after last year, I'm hooked on these multi-day, mostly dirt adventures. And if there's fishing involved? Bonus!

OMG this looks awesome! I've been thinking about riding in and around Dinosaur for a while but none of my friends with bikes want to do a ride like that and I was thinking a somewhat remote area/far from home would be better with a few others.

If I can swing the timing this could be a great way to do an awesome ride and meet some people.

I found a map of the area that shows public and private roads. That all is very clearly private.
But the turn before you start off the mountain is public and connects you to the routes Ed made.
I was completely shocked that no shotguns were involved.

Heck, same teams as last year, then fill it in with Noobs when there are openings. We keep team never lost on the small bikes, hit up the sand hill first and watch the rest of them.

Agreed. NEVERLOST is the best, most fun group! Give me more time at Lodore this year, I'll provide more fishies

Since team KLR's leader can't make it this year(which that will make 0 KLR's between team members), I vote for a change of name. Team FOREVERLOST. We'll try to uphold our reputation of getting lost, be the last up the Sand Hill and showing up at camp after dark.

We need jjmead1 on our team. Three Xchallenges with tiny gas tanks and weak subframes, and no one able to even reach the ground from the seat: what could possibly go wrong?

Then again we might need some KLR supervision or something.

I always chuckled at people who complained about that, until I got the X. Now I still laugh but I can relate.

Any room for for someone north of the border to join in? I'm working on a plan to join you guys. I'll be working my way up from Tucson on part of the AZBDR where I've had the 990 for the winter (they're too long up Calgary way). I need to find a place to park the bike, preferably not too far from the Denver airport from the 19th to the 29th since I have to put some time in behind the desk. Any ideas?

I've got some extra garage space in Longmont if you want to stick your bike there. About an hour from DIA. We are planning (hopefully) on trucking our 3 DRZ's to Craig for the Dino ride.

I'm riding with Geek. I wouldn't fit in any way. At 6"1' I can touch the ground and the X is Ohlins suspended to make it more of a "challenge". I think he is going to make me try the hill climb this year. Last year I "smartly" avoided it and waited a half hour in the sun baking......
