Mine was an open road no cars coming the other way.

Got to the end & found out why A kid on a GSXR crossed the line & went head on into a Honda... Not a good scene His shoe was in the grill of the car..

First time I went there was on PA/.NY ride with some buddies. They stopped afterwards and asked how I liked it? My response was, " That was it?" LOL

You must get it back..it is the right thing to do. These old classics need to be saved, not crushed or rusted to death.

My uncles 69 442 W-30 yes W-30 it had the W-30 rear end cover and enblem on the glove box. it would rust away in a garage that the water would run in one door and out the other.

It's fun if you can route through there on a trip, but I would not tell anyone to just go there.

the rest of 97 is at least entertaining, isn't it?

what's on your list of favorite rides in the area?

I hit it during a construction time too, or it would have been great.

Check the links in this RR post of mine Catskills trip.

http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....93&postcount=1

Plenty of great roads up in that area.

I rode some fun roads on the NJ side of the Delaware in the High Point area. Wish I could remember which ones. There is a General Store over there all the riders visit, too. I crossed at Dingman's Ferry on that skinny old toll bridge and headed due west. Crappy roads through the woods and had a ball!

The Old Mine Road is a fun one, it goes from Delaware Water Gap up to Dingman's Ferry and follows the river on the New Jersey Side. It used to be an indian trail. The Walpack Inn is along the route and a good place for lunch. If your coming from the north cross The Dingman's bridge into Jersey and hang a right.

Thanks Dusty, added to the loop

i have a repro 17th century map of CT Native trails and it lines up perfectly with a modern map of numbered roads throughout the state.
i think this explains why so many roads around here are fun to ride - following rivers, interesting geology, paths of least resistance, etc.

1st a deer trail, then a path, now a road - 10,000+ years old

It's A Good One

Very non-sucky. Yes, 402 (stop at Rescia Falls) is nicer than 447, but if you take 447 from Busn. 209 to E. Stroudsburg try SR 2022 to SR 2011 to Hill Rd and a left on SR 1003 (Hallett Rd). It's a hoot. Also, when in Hancock try and do NY 30 (best road in NYS) to Margaretville (it's off Route 17 at East Branch).

I have a serious case of cabin fever, so I played with your route

There were a lot of roads mentioned in the previous posts that I agreed with. This is a good street tire route that I will be retracing as soon as it warms up. I would recommend trying to get North into the Catskills. If you run out of time and are on the wrong side of the Delaware River, there are bridges at Barryville, Port Jervis, Milford, and Dingmans Ferry where you can take a short cut.
