Nice!

originally i was resisting the Catskills notion - i've ridden and camped there a thousand times but have only tooled around NE PA for 1 week back in 1999.

but that IS a nice addition to the loop - F it! let's get this route north of 400 miles!

Bethel Wood's is up above Narrowsburg a bit, that's where the site of the Woodstock concert was in the sixty's. Nice roads and an interesting place to see.

far out, man!

now we'll see how many of my riding buddies are masochistic enough to attempt it!

there are plenty of bailouts available to head back to the cabin when your back, neck, wrists, etc. object too much

Thanks

Good thing I got the comfy Seat Concept seat changed out this week
So yes Mat, I could be talked into 400 miles

Not to hijack this awesome street ride thread, but...
What about some dirt oriented rides from the same area? Couple of us will be looking for dirt before or after the "epic" ride.

This Lenox to Hale Eddy route is a new one I am working on and still need to ride as a complete route. In other words, I plotted it from memory. It is the closest route I have to Lake Ariel. There are too many segments to lay it out on Google maps. This one ends at the River Run, an out of the way restaurant in Hale Eddy with surprisingly good food.

CannonsvilleRider screwed with this post 03-08-2014 at 07:16 AM Reason: added new route to Hale Eddy

Great info, thanks a ton. I'm big history buff and enjoyed Cannonsvillerider's description. If I don't get the loop this ride I'll for sure be out some other time.

i'm ready, thanks

just awaiting 36 rotations of the Earth and the CT glacier to recede

historically, i don't plan much, preferring to have a general area in mind, some basic provisions and cash

lately though, ive been utilizing a single base camp rather than searching at dusk and enjoying the daily ride without baggage

this winter has been too cold, too long - i'm yearning for a longish trip, more than a week and Nova Scotia, PEI and Labrador have been in my thoughts a lot lately.

How about you? Where have your dream rides taken you this winter?

I was just so happy to get out the other day for a little 30 mile ride as it finally cracked 45 degrees! My favorite areas to ride within a reasonable distance from home are the Allegheny Mountains in north-central and northwest PA. But I'm also looking forward to exploring more of the area around the Delaware River, with my cabin as a base. I only wish retirement weren't 20 years away (if I'm lucky)!

If you're exhausted from this winter, heading north may not be the best idea, altho' it depends when you go. June, it'll be cold and rainy, and rainy and cold. And it might rain. Consider West Virginia -- fantastic.

funny, this.

i've been wanting to do a week or more in the Appalachia and thought this may be the year but a buddy of mine (who possesses my old VFR) has seen too many photos and heard too many of my stories about the Cabot Trail - he's convinced it's his Destiny

do you need a passport for W Virginny?
