in your maintenance post you mentioned front brake caliper slider rubbers, what's that? as far as I know, only the rear has those, is the 690 rally that different?

No, they are the same, the dust seals / rubbers for the sliders on the front calliper.

Not the piston seals, the slider seals, shown in this image. The sliders being the gold coloured rods, one affixed to the caliper itself, the other to the hanger/bracket.
