Go slow past the church on Sundays. On any given weekend you'll have four bikes or 100 depending on what's going on locally. Weekdays you stand a good chance of being the only one there other than the occasional local.

It's nowhere near the psycho squid parade that 129 is.

+1 Adam.

To the OP: That place was my second home for a number of years. Weekdays and early/late season are best. Very few squids/cages/LEOs. Just all the good stuff. Hwy 58 outside nearby Damascus, VA is also awesome.

David Dial runs the general store. Can't ask for better owners. They do it right.

Snake pretty good, marketing is making it a bit more popular than it deserves.

Check out the website clawofthedragon.com for some VA rides that are decent.

It's not bad during the week sometimes, but stay away on the weekends. Here's a little escapade I had with some friends back in 08.

LMAO- Driving awards for everyone!

Once I was busted with a LARGE group while off roading near the Yadkin River. They made two lines and started handing out tickets. They ran out of tickets and the guys in the back of the line had to wait for them to go back and get another book of tickets..... Good times....

Those are the largest-dimension wise-tickets I have ever seen, were they well deserved?

That looks like a great "fishin' hole" for LEO.

Btw, there are dozens of great twisty roads nearby that the HP never drives on, and even if they did those roads are too tight & twisty for them to turn around to catch you.

Sounds like just another grandpa cruiser tourist trap for overweight old men to putt-putt up and down 1/3 the speed limit so they can say they slayed the dragon/snake/yeti/wombat/pink poodle/rabid squirrel, etc.

Some truth to that mrphotoman, speaking as an official old fart (that travels a lot closer to 2/3's of the limit) its way more satisfying to ride by the leather clad kids with pucky knees riding with delusions of grandeur that crash -without injury of course- and/or pose with paper:well deserved only: held high; fewer points-more beer
