So frustrating.

If you want to make a detour on the way, you're welcome to my bike. I'm not riding for a while.

Ahh man that sucks, sorry about your luck.
Spent the weekend checking valves doing seals on the forks Nd now to spoon on tires and tubes tonight. Then little test ride to make sure everything is good.
Jason I hear you on fing tubes. Went for a ride a week ago and popped a tube on a trail. Thankfully the trail ended soon. Spooned off the tire on a park bench and put the new tube in. Pumped it up and I must have pinched the spare. fawking fawk Fawked. So just put the tire back on and rode the road home 80km or so on a flat. Thankfully for the rim lock I was able to cruze along quite quick, just sucked when you had to go slow around a corner.

i started using UHD tubes for that very reason. They are a pain in the backside to put in though.

HD vs UDH

The one in the tire the first time was UDH and the other was a heavey duty one with a patch on it as the spare. It packs a lot better then the UDH ones lol. The pinch was my fault, rushing. Should have put some air in it before I tried to spoon on the tire.

toast

That doesn't look right...

Notice the black piece of engine shrapnel on the top left of the cam tower... about 10 teaspoons of that came out when i drained the oil I'll pull the head later this week to see how bad it is. This was enough to know there is no quick fix.

So MO is out for me and RWV is cancelled. I guess the good news is i have plenty of time before BRS. What's the word on rally engine builders?

Brian - thanks for the offer. Very generous of you!

Rodney

That's a all night repair in a good hotel room

That's a real offer, come and take the bike. Just say the word, and I'll go change the oil. It's still got the s12's from sandblast on her. I haven't ridden at all since then. So you might need some new shoes. But if you want it, come on by.

Knowing you Brian, i never doubted that it was And don't think I didn't think, "you can fix it, you've got plenty of time"

But it's not going to happen this time. I have so many things going on outside of motorally right now i'm calling it done and moving on.

Now looks like a good time to find yourself a nice DRZ.

Ohhh, I like that idea.... Always room for more Dr.Z's in the world...

I offered my DRZ, which will already be at MO, just in case. Talk about "arrive and ride"...

You may notice I've made the switch from BMW F800GS to DRZ400E for this event.

I think of the DRZ as half a F800GS. Half the engine displacement, half the weight, but unfortunately twice the fuel consumption and one-third the range on one tank of fuel.

I am looking for a roll chart holder to use for one day.

I lent mine to a local inmate last fall... he's looking for it, I'm not going to get my hopes up so this is plan B.

I'm throwing this out there just in case.

Thanks and

You guys are great... where else do fellow competitors offer their rides to save a race day? Awesome As much as i'd love to take you up on it, my travel budget is best redirected to engine work.

Tom, a DRZ is sounding good right now... I hear they are fast and low maintenance After a head gasket at the last race and now a timing chain i'm questioning my orange koolaid. BC sure made that Aprilia go fast at SB and i've always wanted a Husqy
