F800 GS plastic cracking around the tank!

Hi all,

I just noticed the crack has developed in the plastic all the way around the tank.
The bike is just few month old and never had been in a crash or anything…

Anyone have seen this before? Should I be concerned (I am going to talk to the dealer anyway of course)?

Thanks!

Thanks!
It is sad really! I was under impression this problem was fixed for post 2010 bikes!
The fricking BMW can't fix the plastic for the last 5+ years!!!
WTF?

I suspect it is occurring because of people not having enough dirt on their motorcycles... it is like rust on old cars, it keeps them together

There is some unique variable though. I am intrigued only by that. I think we need a poll...

Tank split
Tank not split

Is your waist bigger than inseam
Is your inseam bigger than your waist

Do you use rocket fuel
Do you use 87 octane
Do you use moonshine
Do you use non-ethanol based fuel

Is your bike muddy most of the time
Can I lick your bike and taste zzz German engineering

How many touratech farkles do you have

Have you ever made sweet sweet love to your exhaust

it's a natural protection for the paint look at boars, wildbeests and elephants (ak. Darryl, Jim and Erling) they do the same
