Not quite the right road, but I did go cache hunting, the gravel road in is still snow and ice covered. As soon as it can be pulled I'll get it. We'll have to set up a new thread here and repost the rules of engagement

They say you get what you pay for. Well the electricians that we used on this house are damn expensive. They have been used on other projects and recommended from other house builders.

So you ask for some kitchen island receptacles - required by code. They apparently forgot about the wires for one on the left side. So after a lengthy discussion about liabilities and how they should never have cut out the first receptacle I agree to save them time and cut out the new hole.

I remove the plate from the right side one to find dimensions and discover this...


Do you normally carry a hungry beaver with you in the work van?
I realize he probably didn't have the right tools to so the job and so a drill would suffice. And the poor bugger got reprimanded by his superior for attempting it. He was just trying to be helpful. So I'm not complaining about the thoughtful attempt. Ok... Maybe a little. :-).

With the correct tools I cut this.


Just funny.

The rest of the house looks awesome tho.
