Starting to see signs of spring in Wabeno, the snow is slowly receding Temps should be above 45 all week

Just a reminder that the ride is less than 60 days away, so if you havent signed up yet, better do so.

Just got Back from the southerly Wabeno suburb of Townsend ,went snowshoeing ,put on about a mile ,zigging an zagging thru the woods. There are bare areas starting to open up ,but can be knee deep where the sun can't get to it.

Yes the good news is that the south hill sides and open places are pretty much clear of snow. On the other hand the shaded side of the shed, the trail side of the hill at my place , the road into Squirts Hero are all deep enough to bury the ATV to the not going this way, wonder if I can get back out the way I came point. oh and I heard they picked up another 4-6" since we left Sunday. I cant help but believe the most of the snow will be gone by out work weekend- no bets on the frost though, and I' more sure that we wont use the open water of the lake to chill our beer this year. talked to someone who fished this past week 36" of ice and the lakes are still snow white!

OK, so at the first work weekend, I volunteer to be in charge of checking the south-facing hillsides, then.

Could set up a ice racing course on the lake

Several of us have snowmobiles and/or ATV's, so the trail work will get done some how some way

well we are 2 weeks from our first set up weekend, last night we got 6 to 10" of snow, so the south facing hill sides are no longer clear. I know this has no effect on weather we have an event or not,, but it sure has the possibility of screwing up our clubs work weekends. Either we will all be bring up snow blowers to find trail or just ing.

It does look like we have a LOT of new and old sponsors showing and signing up so we'll have a lot of door prizes for those who show up to ride in June------ when there is no damned snow!
