Tellico plains area DS ride.

We're in tellico now, rode Witt rd and the ultimate DS route. Anyone know of a nice dirt ride close by.

Take the Cherohalla out of town. Before you start up the mountain, turn right on River Rd., about 6 or 7 miles up River Rd., turn left on North River Rd. and ride it all the way over to Joyce Kilmer. Very nice and scenic ride. You can ride through Joyce Kilmer while you're there if you have time.

You could also take either of the 2 rights off of River Rd. which lead into a myriad of dirt roads. Less scenic, but more dirt.

The GREATEST road ever graveled runs from Little Snowbird over the mountain to Andrews, coming out on Beaver Creek road.

This IS the GREATEST dirt road...I PROMISE.

Look it up on Google maps and it'll not connect...but it DOES.

It's hard to find from the Cherahala end.....Ride Joe Brown Highway over into Murphy, then head North to Andrews, turn left on Beaver Creek Road.....when that road dead-ends, turn around and ride in between the first house on the left and their barn/wood-shed...yeah, I know, sounds fishy...but I PROMISE you...you'll NOT be disappointed.

Ride it to the end, turn right, then right again after you cross a bridge...that runs into Little Snowbird road, coming out on the Cherahala about a 1/2 mile from Thunder Mountain...

DO IT !!!

And then keep it quiet....It's a secret.

I think this might be Little Snowbird-->Beaver Creek Track? It worked really well using Satellite, until I got to the top. I don't really know how it connects near Little Snowbird and the track has a break in it. There also appears to many variants in the area, but maybe it's more obvious when you are on the ground?

Just be sure you don't miss a turn or you might get locked in behind a gate. Don't ask me how I know that.

Be careful in that area.

We ended up on Webb rd , squally rd, buffalo creek, ended up coming out on cherohola rd.
The last 1/2 mile was a real workout, took us a few hours to get all the bikes thru.

Very confusing

I'm trying to connect the dots... from Andrews, Beaver Creek Rd meanders westerly then at the Porterfield Gap there look to be several "roads" leading northish towards Little Snowbird. Those roads seem to end at a fish hatchery or something along Little Snowbird (1115). I want to explore this area but would hate to end up on private property leading back to a meth lab and on the wrong side of a locked gate.

From Porterfield Gap down to Little Snowbird Rd it is private property.. It's okay to ride it and I've never heard of anyone having a problem there.. When you get to Little Snowbird,, if you go East (right) you'll come back to Rd143 which is the Cherohala Skyway.. If you go to the West (left) you'll go on to Tom Thrash's property that is now leased by the folks from Durhamtown. That area is an ORV riding area now,, but they want you to access it from the Boiling Springs (Murphy) side.. don't know about a meth lab,, but some of the Moonshiners TV show is filmed in there.. hope this helps..
