Rally Raid parts in Canada?

Anyone know of a Canadian vendor who sells Rally Raid (UK based products) in Canada? www.ktmtwins.com sells them but they're in the US and I am sick and tired of cross-border shopping with all of the duties / shipping associated.

Thanks in advance

I do not know of any dealer but have you called and asked if anyone can order it. Also what are you looking for?

Touratech (no longer at Motointernational in Montreal) in Bromont, Quebec is (I believe) a Canadian distributor.

They have a fully kitted 690 on display at their store.

And that's why you want a 690. Hummmm might be away this weekend or does the price go up (insert evil laugh)

Alon,

Compare the cost to just ordering straight from RR. That's what I did for aux tanks on the 690 and it worked out well.

What he said. I haven't ordered from RR myself, but two weekends ago I ordered some parts for my GS from the states and some parts for my wife's road bike from an outfit in the UK. Total weight/size of each order was about the same. Want to guess which one had cheaper shipping and is already here? Give you a hint my GS is not looking to happy but my wife is.

I ordered my RR screen from KTMTwins.com....Even with the duty it only worked out to like $120. I live in Ottawa though so I can go pick stuff up at the border instead of getting raped by brokers...I'd be surprised if Touratech was selling the same part for less than $140....and then there's tax....and shipping most likely, unless they have a deal like Canadasmotorcycle.ca where shipping is free over an X amount.

Now Im curious...Im gonna go check......

KTM Twins wants $123 (USD) plus shipping plus duty plus HST - I can only imagine the look on my face when I have to spend over $200 for a windscreen that isn't a finished product on the backside and that needs paint on the front :)

I will try the direct RR route from the UK.

I ordered from the UK and the parts came quicker than from the States!

There is no duty on motorcycle parts. If you got charged duty and you still have the receipt go get your dough back. There are the usual PST/HST taxes and Canada post does charge $9.95 these days for brokerage fees, but no duty.

I've ordered so much stuff from online distributors through out the world!!

So far, I think that the Europeans are on top of my list, followed by Australians, and third come the Americans very close next to the Chinese...!!

I don't want to be rude or anything, but the Europeans are much more efficient with the airmail.

Beside shipping times, Australians are just as good as the Europeans... But you have to wait a little longer for your stuff to arrive...

As for the Americans, I don't think that anyone that works at the Border agencies, US or Canadian, ever heard about the free trade act...!!

So yes, buying from UK would save you time, money and headaches!!

I've ordered plenty of things from the UK and have been much happier having it come from there. Has always been much faster shipping too.

When I order from the states it has always been hit and miss when it comes to paying the taxes on it. But I have never been charged once when it has come from the UK.

May seem weird to some but for me if there are taxes to be paid on items that I have ordered, I have to drive to a different post office to pay. If there are no taxes to be paid I can pick up a lot closer to home.
