Question

OK, so I lied and I didn't send in the Black Dog registration yesterday. Filling it now. What does a guy with a big 1200GS, a fair amount of confidence, and an adventurous spirit register for? Adventure bike? I don't want to be bored, but I'm not keen on trashing my daily-driver either. Capitol Forest was fun, but I'd be interested in taking it up another notch into double-track.

Thoughts? If I go easy on the 1st day, do you think I'd be able to go on the more challenging route the next day?

We all signed up for the dual sport ride, I think you'll be just fine. If not we'll be there to give you support!

Pissed Ha!

Oh great, I signed up for adventure since I figured that's what a GS guy is expected to do. Now you KTM clowns are going to make fun of me!

So this is happening tomorrow evening?

I wouldn't mind meeting some of the PNW folks.

I'm out for tomorrow. Got a guy working for me who's headed out into the great wide civilian world and we're doing a farewell close enough to the house that I can stumble home...and regret my decisions Thursday morning.

So what email? The one on the registration? Do I have to ride in ditches to hang out with you guys? Is that like the secret handshake? Because I did it last time around after recovering that dude from the great KLR cartwheel, but no one saw me. Come to think of it, no one saw me. So obviously it didn't happen. Disregard anything I said before. That dirt on my left shoulder must have been from heaving someone else's bike out of the ditch!

Seriously though, I wrote a note on my registration asking whether I'd be able to switch after the 1st day if it wasn't challenging enough. Since I'm primarily solo, I'm still having a hard time deciding if gnarly double-track is just right, or too much. Everyone's standards are different!

Havoc1 it is a email that i searched for in order to get to the right person in charge to change my signup. If you man up & decide to do the dual sport ride with us KTM clowns thats when you'll learn the special handshake…….it always starts with a beer in one hand. Thats how us clowns roll. As for ditches & dirt on the shoulder thats just lots of fun…….but not for all.

Who is in for the meet up this evening at the Tap Room? Thinking about setting up a ride over to Whistling Jacks over in the Naches area in the near future. We talked about the 18th of June but may need to be pushed off till July.

OK, so my boss is off leave and I'm done doing both of our jobs (poorly). Been a lot of late nights the last coupla weeks.

So, before I head over to that particular thread on ADV...any plans for travel out to the Black Dog? I'm on leave starting Thursday. I'd planned to ride out, but depending on the situation, could contribute my Nissan Frontier (full size bed) and possible a folding trailer...which I have not yet registered in the great state of WA since I just finished building it and don't want to pay the taxes on if I don't need it.

I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. Should I be worried? Will I survive without? I need to sit down and do some reading so I know what's expected. Kinda signed up blind because you animals said it was a good idea. ;-) It could be observed that I have no earthly idea what I'm doing here. I've just now realized that this is in Oregon, not WA! But I've got a Moose racing roll-chart now...still new in the packaging.

BTW, do I need a WA ORV-sticker on the bike or not? I'm genuinely confused at this page: http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/ATV/Pages...te_ATV_Permits I know that I only need a Discovery Pass in WA because the bike is street legal and registered. Same in OR?

There I am, #143. Registered for adventure. Gotta get a taste of what's what here. Can't wait!
