'09 or the 2012 if you like the colors and your budget likes the bike ...

Those all look like dealer prices ... stick to your budget and go private party ... keep an eye out and you'll something you're happy with and within your budget of $10k.

Pass on all.

Also went through exactly the same dilema last fall. I ended up with a nicely farkled 2012 GSA with about the same miles. I did however spend a couple thousand more than originally intended, but now glad I did.

+1 = 8 for the '12. The '12 has the camhead engine you will not regret having control over

Another one for the '12,
As well as what others have mentioned, BMW changed shock suppliers in late 2010 from Showa to WP.

I also like the shim rather than tappets for valve adjustment.
ESA is a nice feature, but I opted not to have TPS.

I had an '08 GS before my '12 GSA and I like the GSA better.
No buyers remorse here, as I usually keep stuff for a long time I don't worry about depreciation.

I think I am going for the 12. Out of curiosity, has anybody recently traded a 12 and if so what did you get?

decision

I'd go with the '12 too. I own one now after having an '07
GSA. The motor is stronger and they did several upgrades during that time. I believe in 2010 they went from a fuel strip in the tank to a float to keep the alcohol from ruining the fuel sensor. They had this bike out since '06 and got most of the bugs worked out right before the model change, so I figured this would be the best one of it's generation. Good luck!!

I do know that there was a bike on here, believe it was a 12-13', that I ran across in my quest to purchase a bike and the owner told me that he was offered 13500 by his dealer up north. I think that was probably a bit low as I've seen 13's in the 18-19k range used at dealers, but it was what I heard. I'd heard others on 09's getting in the 10k range.

12' purchased for $14k. I was able to get a little extra off the bike. Magma red w.8k miles

Factory option
- abs
- esc
- ASC
- tpms (a gadget but after having on my gt I do like this)
- computer
- chrome exhaust
- warranty through aug 2015

Accessories
- bmw side cases

Hey all,

Update on this and I would like your feedback if it care to share.

I am schedule to pickup the 12 on tues, but the guy with the 07 called me today and said he would do 10k.

Should I skip the 12' for $14k and take the 07' for $10k? What's your thoughts? Is the 12 worth 4k more?

I've been lurking on the site for a few weeks and I've made up my mind that the next bike I purchase will be a '11 - '13 GSA. Face it, concerning your options, for a few $k more plus updated technology with warranty - it's a no brainer. Cry once then smile for many more years. Now go get your frick'in '12 GS bike.

The 2012 is still eligible to have the warranty extended for another five years, I believe it would be. To me, that is more than enough reason to make up for the $4000 difference in price. Never mind the newer motor etc.

Damn good price!
My buddy traded a '12 triple black for 13.5. It sold for 16k two days later.
Less than 12k miles with bags and all factory options. You got a great Deal.
Jump on it!
