If no leaks are present, cracks in the flange are small, and the flange diameter has not exceeded a certain measurement , then a reinforcing ring will be installed on the flange neck to prevent the possibility of future leakage. After this action is completed , your fuel pump will be equivalent to current production.
If leaks are present, if cracks in the flange extend to the bottom of the flange, or if the flange diameter has exceeded a certain measurement , then the fuel pump will be replaced with the current production design which includes the reinforcing ring.

I got an email follow up from BMW last week. They said they're running behind on sending out the letters. They also mentioned that after we receive the letter, well receive another letter from a dealer when the parts are in stock and ready to be installed/replaced. I'm guessing end of summer?

You folks that have received your notice, does it identify the repair action?

That's it from my letter too Roadscum. The dealer will make the decision to reinforce or replace. I assume that because it is BMW NA steering this ship, the US repair will be the same as Canada.

Not "hanging out"....and I dislike Koolaide....Is BMW above reproach from someone who owns one? Looking the other way accomplishing nothing but feeding incompetence...

I received my recall notice in the mail today. It states that they don't yet have the parts to conduct the recall but when they do I will receive another notice via first class mail.

This is the first re-call notice I have heard of being delivered in the USA.

Did they state what the "parts" would be or approx. when they would be in stock?

Thanks...

Waiting..Waiting

I guess the re-calls are being walked East to West; nothing here [Oregon] in my mailbox...

Big questions is when will they get the needed parts to honor this re-call; a month? 3 months...?

Has anyone in another country had the work already done under this re-call? [are the parts available elsewhere but not here...]

Oh well, not a damn thing to be done but wait...and carry a fire extinguisher..

Got mine today. It says my 05 bike might burst into flames at any time due to defects in the quick connect for the gas tank. But that they don't have the parts to fix it yet. I would be more worried if it had not gone 9 years without blowing up. Maybe you guys ought to have the same attitude.

I didn't get my recall notice yet, so I rode the TW200 today. I don't have a fire extinguisher
