Had mine done on Tuesday.
Took two hours. Enjoyed a coffee and watched some motorcycle related videos in the waiting room, then fondled some of the new bikes in the showroom.
I really love the Sandrover colour on the new F800GSA.
Thinking about re-painting the Panzerrad.

Ah, did your dealer get the BMW parts required for this re-call? The rest of us were told to wait an indefinite amount of time until the parts became available before we could come in to a dealer for the inspection and "fix".

What exactly was done to your bike and where?

Thanks..

Vancouver Motorrad. They said they have lots of parts, and also said "It's a popular recall".

Different recall in Canada?

Vancouver rider has his done. Here in the US we have to wait how long? My dealer does not know.
Canada 1, USA 0.

Does any one have pictures of the problem areas? If so, please post.

Thanks, Don

Sorry...wrong "West Coast"...well actually same coast just different country.

It is strange that Canada [and S Africa] got the repair parts in response to this re-call but the USA did not...wonder if BMW realizes that Canada fought on the side of the Allies?

Flange recall

Great to read others are receiving these as well. I received the notice twice. I am lucky enough to own an 09' GS and a 10' GSA. So I get to take both in the my local BMWer dealer.

It gives me some degree of solace to know it's not just me.

I actually enjoy shopping around at my local dealership. I have yet to see a water-cooled new GS of any sort for sale. All seem already purchased. Owner machines coming in for service.

Suppose it's time for another T-shirt!

Question Not for everyone

So I just called BMW Canada and after giving them my VIN number they said that my specific built was not affected by the recall. I was surprised as I thought it would be all the bikes under the umbrella of the recall, for Canada #2013442 I suppose that my specific bike was not...

I don't believe them. Look at the flange around the right angle gas hose plug in. Does it have a metal flange around it? And if not, any redial cracks yet?

Got my notice last week for my 2011 GSA, the bike I totaled against the side of a Ford last September. Recall is on, but the dealership doesn't have parts yet. Wouldn't have mater, I had already spent the $130 or so at Beemer Boneyard and replaced the quick connects with metal ones and installed the clamps to prevent the cracking and possible explosion.

My 2012 GSA came with factory installed metal rings to prevent the cracking, so yeah, BMW knew it was a problem long before the recall notices went out. Not the first time (dual plugs on 1150 to stop the surging that was never a problem).

Oh well. Thanks to ADV I knew this was a potential problem spot and handled it so on the road the possible explosion and horrible death never worried me.
