I'd love to go to that.

We used to road trip all over that area when I was little: Taos, Truchas, Chimayo, Los Alamos, other places I can't remember. I love it there.

Hopefully, I can get there.

It looks like Zak Smith and I are in with our 950 and 990s respectively. The current thinking is to leave Thursday morning from the Denver area and head to Taos, returning on Monday (the lack of a detailed agenda is frustrating). If there are others that are going we would be happy to ride together. It would also be preferable to get some scenic miles and some dirt/gravel and not just interstate.

A quick Google search reveals a route via 285 (~6 hour ride) , which is paved, but more scenic than I25. Alternative routes and others wanting to make the movement together are welcome.

Who's in?

I'm heading on my 640 along with my friend on his triumph triple. Another friend on a 640 may join us.

We're going to leave Thursday morning as well. My friend is heading back on Sunday but I'd love to ride back with you on Monday.

We're initially thinking 285, but are open to options.

I booked a condo today! We are scheduled to arrive Thursday night and Leave Monday. The Snake Dance folks were quite flexible on the reservation and flexible departure dates.

Has anyone received any information on the rally yet? Like where in Taos it is, what rides are planned, etc?

Talking Taos KTM rally

It says Taos Ski Valley, so I'm thinking it's at the Taos Mountain Ski resort. I'll be there Thursday, probably camping in my Sprinter van.

It is not in Taos.

It IS at the Taos Ski Valley. Which is 30 minutes to the north of Taos.

TSV is at the end of a Dead End surrounded by Wilderness area. So,
we will be going around and around in the parking lot or riding up and down NM-150 quite frequently.

TSV is a much better ski mountain that Sipapu but when it comes to motorcycle events I believe
that Sipapu is a better choice. But nobody asked me .

Also for non-locals the pre-event video includes spots that are approx. 100 miles from TSV.
TSV is a ski area (without a golf course) with limited resources such as gas, fast food, and groceries.

(The registration process declared that an e-mail would be forth coming approx. 2 weeks ahead of the event.)
