Well, we don't really know if he did/did not shit. It's not clear in the video.

Why slip? It was only water.

It is daytime, so if standing water is doing the braking for you, then you have missed something. Stupid fast for the circumstances & damn lucky not to go down.

Right, he didn't overreact and do anything stupid. Maybe going too hot for the conditions, but otherwise good.

By design is it REALLY hard to hydroplane motorcycle tires, even harder with the skinny little tires ninjette.

The guy may have been a little hot but he didn't yank bars and he didn't storm on the front brake. Even if he had planed a little, you won't necessarily go down if you stay off the front at speed it takes a good amount of time to actually fall over.

I've run into similar situations when I lived in Hawai'i (they aren't so hot with drainage) if you don't square the hell out of your tires you have to be pretty silly before water negatively affects you straight up and down.

I did that last year. It was raining so hard I was having trouble seeing well and had no warning. The water drags the speed down quickly, and I just downshifted and rolled the throttle back on as I got out of the water.

I know what he was hollering about, though. When you hit deep water going fast, it shoots right up your pants legs. Cold water.

^^This. Motorcycle tires have a much different profile than automobile tires, and cut through water a lot better. The key is keeping the contact patch narrow, by riding straight ahead.

Looks like the rider's windshield deflected all of the water directly into his head/neck area... talk about a cold shower!

Pretty sure it's a 650...I ride one every day. Definitely not in that kind of weather, thank goodness for San Diego.
