Three steps means I only have 9 to go.

Congratulations on the new slice of America. We met at the Elbow Inn on the Swinging Bridges Ride. I ride a WR too. Moonshine ring a bell? Did Big Dog make it out? He told me about he was coming so, I gave him a present for you. Make sure he hands it over, you know how he is!

l Love the ranch and will visit someday. Thanks,
Jeffrho

Here is a nice split off (@ Ut 191) from the UTBDR to 3 Step via some nice dirt. You could then backtrack and not miss any of the easier route or just head north from 3 Step (via paved Lisbon rd) and meet up with it again.

It's 19 miles via this side track and you add only an additional 15 miles total to your route if you leave via Lisbon Rd north back to the BDR. There is gas in La Sal, Monticello & Blanding.

You can also completely backtrack and do the harder Lockhart Basin route, but gas up and have range as the Needles Outpost fuel spot can be off & on at times. Call ahead http://www.canyonlandsneedlesoutpost.com/

I created this .gpx with Mapsource, using waypoints & the route tool, but it will work well enough in Google Earth if you open it showing all files. Since these are waypoints, straight string lines are attached to each one and it does not snap to the exact road. It's close enough however.

Enjoy, Bill

Here is the UTBDR .gpx and so stopping and spending a night at 3 Step is a no brainer.

I just happened to pass by the pics of my 2013 southern UTBDR yesterday and was reminded what a absolutely fantastic ride it all was, along with the whole SWUSA experience. Don't miss the Lockhart and the nearby WRT.
Thanks again to TT, Butler Maps and all the rest for putting BDRs together, and good luck to Rancho 3 Steps too.

Great Time at the 3 Step Hideaway

The 3 Step Hideaway hosts the first foursome of KTM Adventure Riders. Accommodations, food and company was outstanding. Thanks to Scott, Julie & Bailey for a great stay.
We recommend that all of you Adventure Riders make it a point to incorporate a stop over at the 3 Step Hideaway.

Scott, I was thinking about spending a night at 3 Step on my way from Tucson to visit my parents in Colorado at the end of May. I'd really like to be able to call my wife at 4am the morning I am leaving to make sure she is getting out of bed and on her way to the airport for a 6am flight to meet me in Colorado. I think she may take advantage of my absence and normal 4:30am wake-ups and keep on sleeping , do you know if there is tmobile cell coverage at your place? The tmobile map looks promising but I'd be nice to confirm. Maybe anyone going to the grand opening this weekend with tmobile could check?
Thanks,
-Eric
