KTM Going strong

Quoted from Dirt Rider magazine:

"KTM North America, Inc just ended its 2005 Fiscal Year with a record, exceeding 21,000 unit sales and turnover in excess of $100 million. This concludes a ten year growth period where KTM sales in North America averaged nearly 20% annual increase in sales per year."

IMO - KTM/KTM-USA's futures so bright they gotta wear shades.

I've been lucky enough to ride a 950 Supermoto. The only problem with that bike is KTM won't be able to meet comsumer demand in the US. The Super Duke's styling appears to be a hit and it's manners appear even better.

The Adventurer is the SUV of motorcycles. Their new XC line of dirt bikes are very strong. IMO they eventually need to develop a four stroke mini bike that will apply to a wider range of begining riders. They have nothing to accomodate bigger first time riders. I've riden a 65SX and starting a kid out that would be similar to throwing them in a river for their first swimming lesson.

Jon Erik appears to have what it takes to run the company. Even though he is young he is surrounded by good people. With the passing of Rod, the last month has been tough on the managment. However, Rod appears to have instilled KTM-USA with a heart and sole passion for the sport and company.

The next ten years will be very interesting to follow from a business and riding perspective.
