Starter gear cover is missing - worries or not

My R80G/S is missing the starter gear plastic cover and wire strap. Is this something I should replace right away (no telling how long it's been missing. It was missing when I bought the bike), replace when I find a used one, or not worry about.

I added that cover to my R60/5. Pre-/6 they didn't even have one stock. Main advantage/purpose is that it keeps clutch plate dust out of the clamshell air filter housing and off of the air filter. Useful, but not immediately needed, IMO
