Ktm 1190 r tapping noise in engine.

My 1190 at sounds like it has a lifter tapping in the engine. This is my first ktm twin. So I'm not sure if it suppose to sound that way or not. The bike has 950 miles on it and runs great. The noise just makes me wonder.

A tapping noise like that might mean the valve clearances need adjusting, suggest you get your dealer to take a look ... and also fit a Unifilter at the same time.

I don't own one of these yet, so take my advice with a few grains of salt, but it sounds like one of the gnomes building the bike got left inside and wants out.
Definitely take it to a dealer if it is making noise. I've seen some pictures from friends that said they had a tapping and the next thing you know, the valve and piston become one

That is one of the reasons I always ride with earplugs!

Honestly - they are noisy engines, and depending what other bikes you are used to they are really noisy. It is impossible to diagnose this over the Internet and the inmates are just giving you an educated best guess depending on their interpretation of you description.

Ride by your dealer and let them have a listen. If that isn't convenient swap bikes with an inmate for a couple miles.

If the noise has been there from the start I wouldn't worry too much, the dealer would have heard during set up and the fact that it is under warranty and they are so fun to ride would make me get out and enjoy her.

I would put a Unifilter in her ASAP though!

Go to the Uniflow web site link below, click the 1190 Unifilter link bottom of page, when you go to the checkout it will let you specify delivery anywhere in the world.

Touratech called me today and said that they had shipped it. Now all I'm waiting on are my upper crash bars.
