Highland Park Hare Scramble Race- west GA Sunday May 25th- ADV class!

I did the race there last year and had a great time. it's a somewhat easy loop, plenty of passing opportunities, and just a fun way to try your hand at racing and see if you enjoy it. Even had a buddy rent a bike (KTM 350) from them for the day, did the race and spent the rest of the day riding at the park.

Highland Park for those that haven't been is a great riding area. Probably 60-70 miles of one way marked trails, easy parking, dealership on site, bike rentals, lunch, cabins, showers/restrooms, etc. Located in Cedartown GA, about 20 miles south of Rome GA. Easy access from I-75 or I-20.

I did the race on my 950 and if I am in town this year, my plan is to race the ADV class again. Anything 650 and tagged is legal in the class. I know when I did it last year there were two 950's and an HP2e. We need to get a few more ADV riders out this year!!

No details posted on the website yet but here's the info posted on the local forums by the owner:

22 classes, trophies through third place, $500 Pro purse. Lots of passing, no conga lines, 90% woods, 10% MX, with a fun obstacle course and spectator area. There is a go-around if you are not up to doing the obstacles. 9am start time, over by 11am, Park open as usual right around 11am. $35 entry.

Ask anyone that has raced a HP Hare Scrambles in the past and they will tell you it was one of the best and most fun HS races they have ever done. Don't miss this one!

I'll be there, but on a race bike. I can't afford to throw my daily rider off one of those cliffs by accident. Plus can't imagine trying to go thru traffic on a dump truck.

That sounds fun

I don't think I will be able to swing it this time, but maybe next year? I will be in north georgia hoping to find a local to ride with on klx250 dual sport with knobbies.

I did a harscramble in Hard Labor Creek back in Feburary and sweated my tail off! I can't image how this one will be this weekend..

It's just my way of loosing a few pounds of unneeded weight as i'm already out of shape..

if I don't end up racing, might hit north GA for a bit of a ride and will keep you posted.

t- check your email, I send info last night about EX in August.

Here are a few pictures that I took of you and Ron.
It was nice meeting you.
I resized them for this posting.
If you want the full sized pictures just let me know
and I'll e-mail them to you. I have 28 total pictures from that day.
