Questor- Survivor of the wasteland after the Last Great War...

Nobody knows why it happened...
Nobody remembers how long ago it happened...
It doesn't really matter anymore...

What matters is that you keep moving and keep finding the three things you need to survive.
- Water
- Fuel
- Food

In that order.
If you stop moving, you will stop moving forever...

When I was younger and the world was still alive life was easy.
Then the Last Great War happened...

We think somebody, or some system, tripped a security system, and everything changed...

The bombs fell.
All the great cities were hit with EMP bombs.
The Electro Magnetic Pulses wiped out any complicated system that used electricity.

Anything that used a computer. Anything that used a high pressure fuel pump, or fuel injection stopped working.

The resulting lack of transportation quickly lead to mass starvation...
Millions starved in the cities within a month.
Most could not escape.

I did...
I had a simple motorcycle without even a battery.

I fled the cities and headed out to the wastelands that I knew so well.

Because the cities...
Well... they're not really there anymore.

The nations capital was hit hardest...
Many bombs crippled the infrastructure.

The great monuments no longer represent what they once did...

At one time I used to go to the cities...

Looking for fuel....

But all I found was destruction and decay...

There is nothing for me there anymore...
So I left everything else behind...

Out here, in the wasteland I don't see living things very often....

And that's good...
Most living creatures aren't doing to well...
I think this used to be a bear.

Life is different now...

It's just me and my XRR...

But to survive, you have to keep moving...
And that's what we do...

Searching....
Searching for Water, Fuel, and Food, in that order...

So come with me as I ride, and ride and ride...

Every day is pretty much the same...

You ride, and keep your eyes open...

Looking for resources...
Looking for threats...

But mostly you ride...

Occasionally you see structures.

But they are usually empty by now...

But you ride and you keep looking...

And look for any signs that might help you find, water, fuel or food.
Small towns or cities tend to be better than big ones.

They tend to still have stuff you can use...

But it is best to be careful.
It's good to find high ground and look around for danger before you enter them...

This volcanic butte will offer that opportunity.

It's far away, but we keep riding in that direction...

We need to head this way...

Getting closer.

The road begins to gain elevation.

Switchbacks as we climb.

Yeup. We're definitely gaining elevation.

The dust that is still in the atmosphere after all these years is more visible as you climb.

We finally get to the top.

Good 360 degree views up here.
That's good. We can see what's around us.

More to come...

There used to be structures up here.
I wonder what they were for?

There's nothing around for miles in any direction...

But I think I see a small town or city down there...

I don't want to go, but I have to.
I need fuel and water.

So we descend the butte and head North East.

Miles of dust and empty terrain...

I'm a man alone.. and have been for years.

But the rule is, you MUST keep moving.

The roads from long ago are the best way to travel, but they can be tricky.

Due to the lack of irrigation, the deserts have taken over and winds are constant. The winds blow fine dust that settles into the depressions in the road. They can been quite deep, and you never see them till it's too late.

Getting hurt out here is not an option...
You have to keep moving.

Power lines lead to cities...

What's that?
Could that hold fuel?
We have to check.

This looks promising.

We approach carefully. Wary of traps or other people.

Aw crap...

We will have to keep looking...

So we ride, and we ride...
Eventually we see another sign...

This could be dangerous...

But we have to try.

Eventually we come to a building...

We get closer to check it out.
Oh....

That is not a good sign.

But we need to check.

Behind the gates are two large engines.
These are the types of machines that caused this apocalypse.
Nuclear powered heat exchange engines...

They represent the genius of mankind, but also the folly.

Monuments to a by-gone age...

We have spent enough time here.
We need to leave before we catch the sickness.

Perhaps there is a town near here..
I think I see one over there in the distance.

Yes. It is a town.

We need to find fuel...

There were people and vehicles here long ago.

So there might be fuel...

If there was, it's gone now.

Maybe we can find food.

Questor is hungry...

I'll park here in the shade and take a look around.

Nothing...

It's getting late, and cities are not good places to be at night.
We need to find high ground...

That will do...

We find a defensible position in the lava rock and decide to stop for the day...
It was disappointing, but at least we are still alive.
And that's probably a good thing...

More to come.... I hope.

Godspeed Q,

If you're trying to survive on an XRR you're going to need all the fuel you can find.

Since you seem to have some extra time on your hands, you might want to check out this classic.

Keep it up.
