re

All the people that I have had ride pillion have said that it is comfortable, but I have the ergo seats fitted and I have never ridden with a pillion more than 200 km or 120 miles at a time.

But they do complain that the grab handles are too close to the seats so under acceleration they have to hold on to the rider.

Oh yeah, a pillion makes the front very light, especially when overtaking. Just be careful.

With the KTM heated seats the wife and I did a week long tour, she was very comfortable especially with the rear topbox and it's back pad.

My wife thinks the pillion position is poor, the seats ok but the footpegs are too high and the grab rails are poor, they would be better behind her.She now refuses to go on it unless I put the topbox on,makes her feel more secure.Mind you,my previous bike spoilt her comfort wise,I had a Stelvio.

My answer.

Custom back rest. She really likes it. Off and on in a minute.

My wife thinks it is great....

My wife and I road 500 miles yesterday and she has no complaints about the pillion position. We have the KTM Ergo seats and she has a top case for a backrest.

I had to remove the grab rails as they rub against my wifeís short legs.

KTM didn't get the grab rails right either.

To compare with my ex 12GS 08, wife says more vibes, not a problem, pegs ŗ bit too high and suspension a bit less comfy (but GS had ohlins...)

That's funny. My wife says it is more comfy than my 09 GSA was, and she is 5'10". Didn't like the top box I had on the GSA either. We put in some 400-500 mile days on that bike, we'll see how this one is for longer trips soon.

My wife loves it. We do have the comfort seats, which is the way to go. I'm 1m75 and she's 1m68. Suits perfect! I use to have a Pan European (ST1100 but with a hard sporty suspension) and she likes the 1190 standard much more! Two weeks ago we made a trip from Belgium to Orleans (france) and the second day to Paris and back home. First day we drove for 8hours, 600kilometers. She did not complain for a second. The only problem she had, was that she was falling asleep, but she has that on all my bikes.
The only improvement would be to put the footpegs a bit lower, but with the comfort seats you're already half way there!
