Crown King and Beyond-er

Sequential to "Crown King and Beyond" mistakenly put in "Ride Reports". An ongoing series of Day Trips that began with my first AZ ride to Crown King, continuing in this thread.

Moab May 4-7

Riders involved

Ridewestktm- Texas- KTM 950

Steelwind - Arizona- KLR 650

(I forget the fourths "superhero" name) We'll call him BMWralph for now
(I hope there isnt already a BMWralph, if there is; sorry ralph)- Texas- BMW 800 (?)

Jtwest- Arizona- KLR650

We were going to meet with two from Idaho but they couldnt make it.

The Plan- Steelwind and I trailered to Moab with the intent to meet the others and ride the White Rim. And an Unplanned Ride the second day then Head back to AZ on Wed.
We woke up Monday morning to a wonderful Breakfast I believe at "Peace Tree"

My Burrito was larger than expected so I ate what I could and left the rest.

We rode by a Potash mine. Got some on my bike.

Getting accustomed to terrain

We came across this little hole right about the time Ridewest lost his Gps. It seemed the wicked jumps he was doing broke the mount.

After searching for a while we found (shockingly) the GPS did not fall into the hole. A couple out on a drive found it and returned it.

Mister Scaredoheights!

Glad to have the GPS back

not so scared o heights- come a little farther from the edge.

Some amazing rock formations. I had been hiking here before in my late teens. its still amazing

Luckily only one flat tire on the trip. turned out to be a nail.

Followed the Colorado most of the trip.

came across another couple of riders with a punctured tube.

Had a bit of a hill climb towards the end

a quick break for scenery and a breather.

finally back at the casa for a cold one

End Day 1

To be Continued
