(NSW) - A few hours to kill on a sunny Saturday around Wellington

So I decided to take the bike out for a little ride around the roads around the back of Wellington that I had recently been shown as I had enjoyed it so much the first time, I thought a repeat was in order and so it came that Saturday was nice and bright and so it was off to Wellington for some fuel and dirt.

Just outside of Wellington ….......... not a bad little piece of road in amongst the paddocks

From here it was out through the golf course a little river crossing

Is a nice little spot but would not want to be here when the water was up.

Is a nice quiet piece of road

Although some of the locals were dubious of me.

This road joins the highway and so I decided on a little different route to last time so turned right instead of left and then headed over a nice little hill with some good views

On the run off the hill I found myself going through a small herd of around 30 cattle out on the road which was no issue in itself until I spoke with the car that was stopped at the other end to be told by the lady driving that (quote) 'the bloody boss has left the gate open again, gotta bet them back in). So it was to be that I took part in my first ever cattle muster as I headed back behind them and drove them down and through the gate whilst the farmhand controlled her side. In the end we had them all in the paddock and were locking the gates before the boss arrived and so after a quick chat it was off to explore further afield.

Turning right I headed onto a road first shown a few weeks back that I really enjoyed for the undulations and views it offered.

This road had a lot of these to cross – and man they were fun

The road was fun as well

A while later it was tim to stop, enjoy the view and take a few more pictures of the road just travelled.

The bike and view

And an old chimney

A little further up the road is a small but intriguing sign …................ I so want to know where the money was spend as aside from 200 metres of older tar the road is all dirt.

Some nice views

Eventually this road hits the highway again and so it was right turn, left turn and off in search of some more dirt, only this time I decided to try a different road, which turned out to be q good thing, with some more nice views.

And a few plane vortex to add to the view

And sheep

Ah, the steed that had got me this far

From here it was off to look at the old church and hall at Bournewood

There was still a churchgoer or two around.

The view from the front isn't to bad either

Even the DR enjoyed it

So it was off for more dirt

When last out this way I noticed these old abandoned farm houses and sheds and being someone who does enjoy the old building thought I would stop and take a closer look

Sorry about the light, the clouds would not play ball …......

Found this interesting door …

The fields and surrounds were quite eerie in a way

The old shed was falling apart

A nice old relic was around the place

The DR Seemed to be enjoying itself

The road ahead

From here it was off for one more little detour

On the way home though I did come across this kid playing in the middle of the road

But mum was close by.

All up 220 or so kays, a few hours and a whole lot of fun.

Very nice

Very nice RR - thanks. Liked the photos, especially the old farm building. Off to find out where Wellington is!
